Part of the issue is that those people don't believe the vaccine actually did anything to vaccinate against covid. They don't believe it was possible for someone to create a vaccine that quickly, and some don't believe vaccines are necessary. They probably think NIH is corrupt or some other nonsense

All of them. See, the thing is, there's ample water, and I really like shiny things.
But, seriously, I saw more car washes being built in Castle Rock, and it is perplexing.

Agreed. It is so utterly perplexing that this many people believe the conman is better to lead the country. Certainly racism and misogyny played a significant role in the outcome of the election. 2016 and 2024, especially 2024 because we KNEW who he was, dishearten me when I think about them.

Coming to the table where Christ is the host is hospitality at its most complete, receiving the Christ and the entire creation and community of Christ and Thanksgiving. When we leave that table, any table, we are blessed, predisposed to engage in a hospitable life."

Gathering friends and family to the table for a meal is our most frequent act of hospitality.

Amid the complicated emotions, may you find courage to feel your feelings, encouragement from your community, and peace to sleep well each night.

You're not alone. It is a sad reality, especially in American evangelicals.

Indeed.
The lack of critical thinking, blind allegiance to authority (whoever is deemed "God's person"), and self-serving behaviors have been a shock to me. When I entered Christian church in 2001, they said character mattered. By 2016, they'd changed their minds.

"King: A Life" by Eig is a fantastic audiobook biography.
"Everything Sad is Untrue" is a fantastic newer fiction audiobook.
"Kindred" by Octavia Butler is a great older fiction audiobook.
