In the course of trying to understand why Windows 11 context menu shortcuts that use modifier keys don't work (The modifier tables don't get loaded apparently), I discovered you can open the current folder by typing "wt" in the explorer address bar.

Remembering my Grandparents who served during WWII, and those often forgotten: 2.5 million South Asians (including Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims), 1 million Africans (mainly Kenyans), and the 10s of thousands of Caribbeans (mainly Jamaicans). When they fought Fascism they fought it together. #VEDay

Attended an event at houses of parliament last night, @tink.uk was a panel member talking about #AI and #accessibility

Tonight, join Vis-Ability 2025: a unique gathering of blind and vision impaired leaders. TetraLogical Directors @tink.uk and @stevefaulkner.bsky.social will be attending with Léonie as a panelist. fightforsight.org.uk/get-involved/vis-ability-2025 #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #VisAbility2025

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is quite long, and, honestly, hard to digest. @tink.uk breaks it down and explains in clear terms which digital products and services must meet accessibility requirements and what businesses need to do to comply. tetralogical.com/blog/2025/03...

The Atlantic posts Signal chat with attack plans from Hegseth: apnews.com/article/hegs... That useful British phrase "couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery" comes to mind. Can't imagine why, really.

Lunch with friends was homemade Cumberland sausages, with mash and peas, plus Yorkshire puddings (because they're PerlBod's favourite); followed by lemon tarte and cream. I need to nap.

A bit of positive news from the Carbon Brief; UK emissions fell by 3.6% in 2024, the lowest since 1872 - and caused largely by coal use dropping to its lowest level since 1666 (the year of the Great Fire of London): www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-uk-...

One thing I like about my Meta Glasses, is that I don't need to go to a thing to determine its state. Before, if I wanted to know if the curtains were closed at the other end of our house, I had to go there and find out. Now, I can just stand there and ask. It's the little things sometimes 🙌

At #FFConf I talked about Accessibility & AI: the good, the bad, and the bollocks, and the video is now available here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij-G... #AI #accessibility #a11y

Following a suggestion from @eva.town, I've just added my "thumbs down" to the PR to remove inclusive design info from the US Web Design System: github.com/uswds/uswds-... How about you? 👿

I'm very happy to welcome back accessibility specialists @tetralogical.com as a partner for @pixelpioneers.co! Huge thanks go to @tink.uk and the rest of the team! 🙏 I also highly recommend their free 6-day newsletter series Accessibility Unlocked. Sign up here: tetralogical.com/newsletters/...

So, #OpenAI is in a bit of a tizzy because #DeepSeek "plagiarised" its models for training purposes: www.theverge.com/news/601195/... I almost managed to keep a straight face when I read this. Almost. 😂😂😂😂😂
