I think it depends on how the owners buy the club. Leverage buyouts are certainly not warranted in football.

A few pundits and journalists said a couple of years ago that selling Rashford and Fernandes would help United become a better team. I suspect it was something to do with how much those two gave the ball away when attacking.

I think so. The £100 million would go straight on the books then United could sign up to 4 or even 5 times that and spread over the length of the new players contract. However if it was me in charge I use some of that money paying the debt off.
