Whenever someone says "always", "never", or "100%" I have to question it. It's so difficult to get a good DNA match, especially in a large population, and after 100+ years?

Might look at Dark Matter. I ran a short campaign with it several years ago. Adds ships (with crew roles), "mega" spells for space combat, and new character options.
