Nope, the whole “electricity” thing just turned out to be a passing fad. Most electricians retrained as plumbers shortly after that book was written.

> An Open Source Password Strength Checker App You Didn't Know You Needed If you need it then something is very wrong, because everyone should be using a password manager that generates secure passwords for them automatically.

Step 1: Retitle a “1:1” calendar invite “3:1”. Don’t explain. Step 2: Show up to the meeting like this. Step 3: There is no step 3.

My favorite things about Bluesky are that it's open source and decentralized! Running a Bluesky Personal Data Server (PDS) is super easy: github.com/bluesky-soci... 💙 🦋

In the folk tale those statues are depicting, the tanuki cooks a woman into soup and serves it to her husband. The rabbit then tortures the tanuki in various ways as revenge. No idea if there's a moral to the story, but it's amusing that such a brutal tale is inspiration for the cute statues there.

The inbound don pricing there doesn't help, that place was the prime example everyone was using for the tourist pricing issue when it opened.

I tried a lot of substitutes (Miniflux, TTRSS, etc) way back and settled on freshrss.org/index.html. Continues to be solid, would recommend it if you're looking for a substitute.

Would be curious as to how well it runs Rocky Linux. Appears to have UEFI so the standard installer should work

This is great! It'll make things much easier for cashiers (saving local businesses money), mostly eliminates an exceedingly obvious opportunity for fraud, and locals won't have to worry about getting stuck behind tourists at checkout lines, etc. All for it.

🤨 ❎ Ubuntu is not 100% binary compatible with Debian ❎ Ads in the terminal lol ❎ 5 years free, Ubuntu Pro subscription required for more ❎ “Enterprise Linux” generally refers to a de facto standard defined by RHEL compatibility, not sure what you meant by “technically enterprise”

Well this sucks. I’ve been using Icinga since forever, time to move elsewhere. Suppose I should be looking for something with better kubernetes tie-ins anyway.

It's a meme: knowyourmeme.com/memes/the-du... But yes, we do have strict privacy / data protection rules within the project. A large part of the reason we self-host our primary community venue (chat.rockylinux.org) is data sovereignty, limiting external dependencies, etc.

> However, their regular use is for the most part kept shrouded in secrecy. The majority of the flights are just training / pilots getting in their flight hours. They have to do a minimum of 96 hours / year. Could get ride-alongs with them if one talked to the right people in Zama smoke pits, lol.
