But the rag tag tough guys grabbing people off the street under Trump's orders can wear a mask. What do THEY have to hide is the better question.

My gosh, how do people come to a place in their life where they just so easily lie and become cheerleaders for fascism? And apparently see themselves as the good ones.

What stupid sophistry. We need to decouple health insurance from employment, like every other developed nation does. What job does Hassett expect my 84 year old mother with advanced Alzheimer's to take, just so billionaires can get more tax cuts? Everyone in this administration is a moron.

I suspect Terry Moran knew there could be consequences for speaking out and did it anyway. That's courage. Something in very short supply these days. The 1st Amdt. is still in place. Criticizing the government and its officials is healthy and acceptable, except to the fascists who silence dissent.

Republicans are lying. They know they are lying. They just need to keep lying long enough to get this horrible bill passed into law. Then they'll all claim ignorance, they're shocked to see rural hospitals closing and millions of eligible people losing health coverage (when that was by design).

This White House is going to put out the narrative they want, regardless of facts.

The White House is instigating this, provoking and agitating. They want this fight, they want the conflict, they want an excuse to send the military to manhandle and rough people up. They enjoy the thuggery. What is this doing to "insure domestic Tranquility", a Constitutional objective?

Over the long term markets go up. Always have. Outlying events are often baked in and have little significance to long term investors. You're an obvious troll. Bye.

If you think markets only ever go up, you obviously don't have any money in the market. They go down, they go up, often and unpredictably. Though the most recent downturn was entirely predictable due to an unforced error.

I would love to know what work Mr. Lankford expects my 84 year old mother with advanced Alzheimer's to do. Brilliant plan. 🙄

This kind of contemptuous gaslighting ought to disqualify one from elected office. If you think your constituents, the people you're elected to serve, are dumb enough to accept this false equivalence, resign and go sell time shares or something.

Trump boasted that they had a "secret" plan that would ensure a win. What was he referring to?

What's the story? That people knew (or suspected) he's gay and didn't say anything? That's not a story. If you're suggesting people knew about the alleged assaults, that's not an assumption you can know.

AI assisted moderation looking for keywords and strings. "k*** T****" probably did it.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they re-name it the James Earl Ray.

No, that's missing the point. They voted for Trump. Trump lied about his intentions. They didn't vote for this. They were lied to.

Today's Republican party strategy - lie long enough to make it happen, then it's mission accomplished and too late to stop it. For further reading on this see Project 2025.

It was the bravado of young men who saw themselves as intrepid tech revolutionaries. Then they encountered the reality of the "break things" mindset - pissed off users, investors, board members; bad press, high blood pressure and sleepless nights. Then it didn't seem so alluring.
comment in response to post
Absolutely true. Big tech companies don't try to break things. They spend huge money to *simulate* all sorts of failure scenarios in a controlled environment (i.e. Netflix's "chaos monkey", in order to anticipate and prevent failures. This is the worst trope of the tech industry.

Musk's final day in the White House might have looked something like this: youtu.be/i0GW0Vnr9Yc?...

I'd be curious to know is Stephen Miller is left handed.

And really, what is the point of this draconian show of force? To terrorize people? Put the fear of the federal government into people going out for morning coffee? Who thinks this is OK in America?
comment in response to post
That's disappointing. He was with the Titans last year and showed real promise. Too bad he's defiled himself associating with Trump.
