3/3 because you're Black". Everything they didn't get or worse, had to compete for, with women and non-white people. This has been my generation's entire life. And while yes, there was progress, we were always headed toward this cataclysm because of resentment.

JB Pritzker consistently says and does rational things. But then again, unlike Trump, JB Pritzker is working for the benefit of the people of Illinois and of his nation. Everything Trump did in his first term and so far in his second has been for the benefit of the Kremlin.

I'm watching alongside Illinoisans what's happening in our country right now with dread. The authoritarian playbook is laid bare: they point to a group of people who don't look like you and tell you to blame them for your problems. What comes next?

It's certainly no excuse, you could call it cowardice, and it is. It's also not most of them, because most of them are such absolute lockstep loyalists now. But the fear of attracting an angry Trump or now Musk tweet is real. It's an open secret. They're terrified of it and not just electorally.

To be clear, Republicans. There are Republicans who've been falling in line for years now not because they fear for their next primary but because they fear some stochastically incited lunatic showing up at their kid's school. It moved votes on impeachment. It's affecting them now on confirmations.
