Anyhow, I somehow even got new followers during my absence? Which is honestly as awesome as it is unexpected, welcome all!
(I'll try not to disappear for a long time again)

So yeah, life has been... something while I was away 😅
Still not quite where I want to be, but still taking steps and doing so much better compared to a few months back. So figured I'd try to get back onto Bluesky (even when history teaches that I'm terrible at social media 🤣)

Hi there! It's been a while since I was last here lol. Let me summarize the past 2(ish) months:
- Got a new job
- Dealt with stuff that was bad for my mental health (which has improved a lot the last few weeks!)
- Got diagnosed with a mild form of autism

Everyone in Aaron's family except for him: that the religious doctrine and the societal rules that come with them will remain forever.

Not really. The only case I remember when I reread books, was a year or two ago when I reread all the Orphan X books that were out at the time in preparation for the newest that was coming out.

There’s livestock and birds and such in the world, but there’s few mentions of animals throughout the story.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that 😢
That is a bit terrifying indeed, I hope it'll never get that bad 🙏Glad you've found an alternative in audiobooks though!

The only home that is prominently featured is Aaron's home, which is a two story, upper-class Victorian style house.
The Victorian style also extends to the world, though not much is mentioned about it as the focus is on the social structures and differences.

I skip most of the songs too tbh. Think I read 2 or 3 of them across The Hobbit and Fellowship of the Ring. Gotta admit I've never tried an audiobook 🙈(I like my books physical 😁)

Since the word "scenery" appears exactly zero times in my WIP I've gone with "scene" instead.
Snippet of my MC Aaron saying goodbye to his sister Maya, as he departs the house for four years for studies.

Relaxing place: my home, where I can chill and unwind after a long day or activities.

Mostly thrillers, though I've been reading more fantasy lately as well. And since the last ~2 years I've been reading cosmic horror quite a bit as well.

Seasons aren't really a thing in "In the Heart of the Holy Sea".

Okay as I wrote the above post I figured my former self *probably* meant to write "a weight THAT spread"

Might not be as tough as you think tbh 😂
I like Lord of the Rings as much as the next fantasy nerd, but I do find myself struggling with Tolkien's writing style at times 😅

You’re welcome! 😁
Excited to dive into Outer Universe once I finish Fellowship of the Ring

I had Windows 11 laptops for work twice. First thing I did both times was make it at least LOOK like Windows 10 as much as I possibly could.
11 sucks.

How disconnected are people from reality to think that being sick is a choice…
