Thanks a lot for sharing our piece! For those interested, it is here: www.fes.de/cgi-bin/gbv.... And a good point about Marx & Lipset. We discuss both dynamics with reference to more recent authors (E.O. Wright and Gidron & Hall) - but should have pointed out the longer lineage of these arguments.

Back in the Obama yrs I was once lectured about how working class white people think about politics, by a guy who grew up in a crazy-rich East Coast community, went to boarding school, & a college that costs more per year than the US median family income
I’m the first my my family to graduate HS
