Donald Trump accusing someone of grand standing because irony is completely dead

Wow. Then why was he freed with no charges and given permission to stay in the country in 2019? Man, whoever was president then sure owes us an explanation for letting this monster out in our streets.

Skipped the paperwork. Ignored the court order. Broke the law. Ignored the constitution. This ain’t immigration policy. This is straight-up defiance of the rule of law.

Pam Bondi wants to go up against Tim Walz?!? 😂😂😂

gosh i wonder why those states

The atrocity animating a moral panic: should Riley Gaines finished in 5th place or in a tie for 5th place?

all judges should be doing this. But the answer to "what happens when the Trump administration continues to ignore court orders" is grim.

Minnesota school board votes to take down inclusive posters—pays parents $30K in damages. Parents sued claiming that posters with messages like "Be Kind" & "We Are Stronger Together" fostered a "hostile educational environment."

Director John Ratcliffe broke the law. He must resign.

Turns out autocracy is bad for business

Relieved to hear the suspected arsonist is now in custody. To wake up on the first night of Passover like this is deeply disturbing, and we're keeping @governor.pa.gov and his family in our thoughts. Bless you to the first responders who acted quickly to keep the Shapiro family safe.

💯

Chasten and I are relieved that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. While we wait to learn more, this much is clear: the targeting of a public official and his family - especially a prominent Jewish official on a major Jewish holiday - is unconscionable and has no place in our country.

The attempt to burn down the Pennsylvania Governor's mansion is pretty clearly an assassination attempt, and it's likely an antisemitic hate crime. It should be referred to that way by political media.

Trump is also saying that the once the US has rounded up individuals, with minimal or zero due process, on whatever pretext they choose, they can send them out of the US to face torture, death, life imprisonment, slave labor or other fates that are unconstitutional or illegal in the US.

Fascinating. Historian Nicole Hemmer says that while Trump has consolidated immense power, and Fox News has become like authoritarian state TV, the media and civil society remain strong and independent in important ways. Check out this exchange in four screen caps: newrepublic.com/article/1938...

You know who else we’re thinking about? People who have had their visas suddenly revoked, or who have been surreptitiously marched into a Salvadoran prison, without a shred of due process.

What a fucking loser. He picked a fight that he can't win and that Americans hate. He lost and he is retreating and GETTING NOTHING IN RETURN.

Here’s an idea for Passover, the Freedom Holiday: When El Salvador’s President Bukele enters the White House Monday April 14 for an “official working visit,” he should BRING MR. GARCIA WITH HIM, HOPEFULLY ALIVE, AND RETURN THE RANSOM HE COLLECTED FOR ENSLAVING THAT LAWLESSLY SEIZED INNOCENT MAN.

Say it with us: “constitutional crisis”

They are obviously slow learners

In a functioning democracy, these comments alone would be grounds for impeachment.

The executive targets his opponents w/bogus investigations. His government disappears people w/out due process and vanishes them beyond reach. He usurps legislative power, controls public funds at will, & consolidates power. Loyalty is expected — or else. Authoritarianism isn’t coming. It’s here.

I am not one rage against my own profession for sport. But what the actual 🤬 is this?!? This man is overseeing the evisceration of our federal healthcare infrastructure and kids are dying of measles on his watch. But he’s “hitting his stride”?! Jesus be a fence www.nytimes.com/2025/04/09/h...

Wild that Rand Paul is out here making a clearer, more forceful case against Trump’s disastrous tariff policies than most Democrats eyeing a run for president.

When you bow down to Trump, he will claim it shows that his conspiracy theories are correct, and only encourage his authoritarianism. Thank you, Big Law cowards.

The failure isn’t the insane President. The failure is all the supposedly sane people pretending he’s not.

thank goodness!! now the price of eggs is really gonna drop!

Wow. Good point. If only this guy was in some kind of position to stop Trump from imposing tariffs.

I'm not going to stop saying this. We need to stop calling it "deporting." It may not always be fair or humane, but deportation has a process. And it means you're sent back to where you came from. These people are being trafficked and sold to slave prisons. Not deported.

big lesson for america here: one reason you dont elect people who believe bull shit like "theyre eating the pets" or "theyre putting kitty litter boxes in the classrooms" is bc if they get in power theyll believe bull shit like "tariffs are a tax cut actually"

if only there were a constitutional equivalent to firing someone

Trump does care about the pain, chaos, and turmoil he’s causing—in the following sense: He loves it. It makes him feel powerful.

From Nov 7:

A country of low educated factory workers that make just enough to struggle to get by being paid in unregulated crypto while oligarchs make billions off our labor in crypto they control. That's the end goal. Destroy the dollar- Make us dumb and compliant-control-profit.

Reminder: All People Had To Do Was Fill In A Little Oval Next To The Smart Black Lady’s Name.

promise?🤞🏼

If you are not furious at what our government did to these people, there’s something wrong with you.

If you don’t think that at some point he’s going to show more interest in the 5,044 nuclear weapons he controls, you’re as deluded as the people who thought he’d never tank the stock market and the economy.

Really enjoying the dumbest people in America crashing the markets because they’re scared of mad king Donald Good work everyone

Good day to remember that DOGE has already lost the US government at least half a trillion dollars this year alone. And likely more.

I blame George W. Bush. He softened America up to the idea that we could have someone stupid in the White House and things would still function.
