The point is that not all offences are of equal gravity. The recall petition process is cumbersome but the threshold of custody makes good sense.

So would you summarily dismiss an MP for driving without due care and attention, or speeding? Both criminal offences but not *quite* so bad.

After graduating into the peak of COVID and scratching around for employment, WFH 5 days seems like hell to me. Go see your colleagues! They're alright usually.

Put another way in an increasingly atomised self selecting world going into work is one of the few areas of life now where you might meet, interact and even bond with people you wouldn't normally (even then of course workplaces have big selection too) and losing that is probably a bad thing.
