Mr. Ali—the overseer of Warrior Delight. Still pragmatic though when said Warriors stink up the place. Let us follow Draymond’s vow to take us to the promised land one more time.

The power of words, melody and the Voice to cement an incandescent truth about what can be discovered around the corner whether you’ve been there or not.

Saw him in Dublin in 7/2018 for his “Last Tour”, with James Taylor and the always brilliant Bonnie Raitt. A wonderful show that befit the talent of all these legends. Enough for me.

Little baby hand waver. Don’t have to hear him to know he’s just another undereducated cluck.

What will it take for Dem leadership to focus on the clear growing fact of his mental derangement? Forget the fucking price of eggs. Our existence is in peril as long as he is the president.

Not unexpected, but no one on the cable shows explored dementia—just how terrible his Ukraine accusations (lies) were. They totally, blindingly missed your point. His disease is rapidly overtaking any ability to reason. Someone (or millions) will be harmed before any actionable steps are taken.

Best known version is likely Bebel Gilberto’s
Most truly Brazilian version by Maria Bethania
This cover, among thousands, is so simple and direct, with two stunning voices, acoustic guitar and a softly forming bass. Recorded sometime around 1975.
Maria and Caetano are siblings.

Well said Maggie. You have been the girl on the beach, if not Ipanema, then any beach you choose. The music wraps around you, I’ll wager!

No kidding—it was the first album I ever bought, in 1964! I’d been introduced to bossa nova two years earlier by a teaching friend of my mom, and this album was an early grounding in my musical experience, along with post-bop jazz and, I might add parenthetically, the early California surf scene.

Not simply a murder but a massacre of righteous representatives of the American people whose only goal is to help those in need. This is not the Rooseveltian world I grew up in — it’s a different place filled with Republican hate mongers prepared to undo the hallowed words of the Constitution.

There’s a Frisco—it’s in Texas. And then, there’s The City by the Bay—
San Francisco. Never the twain shall meet.

Thank you for capturing such extraordinary music over 18 hours. Your wisdom in choosing these pieces brings people together in the extraordinary world you are creating.

Diana Krall had swept me away into the small crevices of the universe for years. I didn’t know if I would find my way back. And then this…
Just unimaginable.
Lyrics, Phrasing, Breath…
Life emerging from genius.

You’re absolutely correct—I knew it the moment he uttered the words. I couldn’t believe he could be that careless.

They all lack the courage to do anything about the coup, whether it’s simple or complex. From the on-site White House reporters to their editors and publishers, to the people who write their headlines. It’s a mutual conspiracy to deny Americans a future where the rule of law survives.

I worked with USAID in South Africa in 2008-2009. They funded a pilot anti-violence project in one of the black townships outside of Capetown. They were always thoroughly professional, purposeful in funding, and committed to helping people, especially in the years just after apartheid.

You know Ron, we say the same damn thing everytime Collins casts one of her handwringing treasonous votes. And guess what: nothing happens. The mindless Maine sycophants return her to office time and time again. It’s like Texas: Maine is the graveyard where Democrats go to die. I’m done.

They can never return to the CIA.
There are likely thousands.
This might be their first work opportunity out of college.
They will likely always turn to see who’s following them.
These are our children.
Trump is traitorous.

These guys simply don’t get it. Stay between the lines, don’t push hard enough, just play the long campaign. THIS IS WAR! It has been for 30 years and as a Democrat, you have never seen the forest for the trees. You’re weak and ineffective. Resign your leadership positions NOW.

I’ve done it consistently since 1960. I’ve never seen a more disorganized Democratic Party in my lifetime with the absolute worst people in leadership. They are a sclerotic generation of has-beens that need to make way for fresh generations of people invested in the new politics of confrontation.
