Meditation will “fix” absolutely nothing. But if you stick with it, it will help absolutely everything.

Meditate today, even for just 5 minutes. Work with self-compassion, and then stand up, in whatever way you can, for a more compassionate world.

I feel like an American-owned plane landing upside down on a Canadian runway in 2025 is just rife with metaphor and meaning, but I'll leave that to poets more gifted than I.

"Engaged Buddhism is just Buddhism. When bombs begin to fall on people, you cannot stay in the meditation hall all of the time. Meditation is about the awareness of what is going on..." - Thich Nhat Hanh Now, more than ever... www.lionsroar.com/the-fourteen...

I've seen a note saying that the Kennedy Center takeover backfired on Trump b/c so many talented artists resigned their posts. This is wishful thinking. Their resignation is precisely what he wanted. Now he can restaff it with his cronies and destroy it from within. His warped plan all along.

My MAGA loving cousin, whose defense of capitalism is "a rising tide lifts all boats" swears that DJT is Don Corleone. I said, "Look at his demeanor with Putin. He's Fredo." That didn't go over well. As for the rising tides, I asked him "What about those who don't have a boat?" No response.

A male friend got called out for mansplaining to my wife. He defended himself by saying, "Men are, by nature, problem solvers, and that gets me in trouble." No, my dude, that thinking is what gets you in trouble. For the record, my wife is the best problem solver I know.

I'm in Barcelona for work this week and have memorized the Spanish phrase for "I'm American, and I apologize in advance."

The U.S. is becoming the most hated nation in the world, and while it makes me immensely sad, I get it. I hope other nations view 2/3rds of our citizens as hostages/resistance and not part of the problem. Most of us believe in allyship and interdependence. Sadly, we're led by those who don't.

Broken men are so much of the problem. But they prefer dominion over meditation, oligarchy over therapy.

I leave on a biz trip tomorrow & it turns out my pilot has never flown before. He's a former minor league ballplayer. My Uber driver doesn't have a license because she's 13. The hotel is run by angry orangutans. My client is made entirely of sharp knives. And yes, this is an analogy for America.

Saw someone argue that Kendrick's performance "didn't change any minds." I can't speak to that, but he relit my passion for resistance after too many days of feeling tied to the tracks. Kendrick said, "Get back up" (or squabble up). Don't pretend it didn't matter.

The Four Immeasurables: May everyone be happy, May everyone be free from misery, May no one ever be separated from their happiness, May everyone have equanimity, free from hatred and attachment.

"No white people during Kendrick's halftime show? So much for diversity" Oh you didn't hear? DEI got canceled. He clearly hired the best people for the job 😌

"One need not wait until war is declared and bullets are flying to work for peace, Buddhism teaches. A more constant and equally urgent battle must be waged each day against the forces of one’s own anger, carelessness, and self-absorption." —Kenneth Kraft #DailyDharma

Toni Morrison talking about Kendrick, even though she wasn't talking about Kendrick. youtu.be/SHHHL31bFPA?...

So, “Hamilton”, but as an all-white bro-country musical?

Trayvon Martin would have been 30 today. Trayvon Martin should be 30 today.
