He’s right though, a tariff is not a tax per se, it’s a levee imposed on the product paid by the IMPORTER, collected by US customs. Then the importer instantly passes it along to the consumers…who pay it!
It’s charged to you… So it might as well BE a tax, as we say to the too-stupid by half, lol

Had a house in suburbia in the 80’s90’s, the height of the gas leafblower craze. On any given day,the serenity if the house set in the woods was constantly destroyed by no less than 3 or 4 going at the same time, which creates & sonic phasing in the brain as the frequencies oscillate.

Evolution favors the critters & behaviors that recognized threats first.
Human ears can’t rotate the way a wolf can. Animals that live solitary are most at risk. Herds & packs have sentries.
Of course when I lived on 8th ave in NYC my brain became numb to sound. It was awful. Had to leave.

I was WAAAAY to young to be watching Dark Shadows, I had terrible nightmares.
Original broadcast Star Trek was my entire world. Living in a super-dysfunctional family & country, the hopeful message was the best of the 60’s.

So beautiful that half-sleep that so many critters have. Amazingly her ears never stop rotating in every direction in response to every new sound.
Her brain is wired to recognize danger sounds but until she hears them she blissfully naps.
Wild nature is incredible.
