Exam crisis is finally sorted out.
Apart from the “child successfully answering all questions” bit. That’s beyond our control now.

…and just been hung up on. Delightful.

Just hit the 45 minute wait mark.
I paid a four figure sum for this, so at least feel I have some leverage when they finally answer.
Much empathy for those who are sitting in call queues with less power and considerably higher or permanent impacts. :-(

Let us not forget that Zelenskyy got a bollocking from JD Vance for not wearing a suit.

It's distressingly slow progress. But it is progress.

Workshop system, innit. Just back in stock at Thonk.
I don't know if I'll actually use it in anger, but the constraints may be useful compared to the vast beast. And it's very portable.
If not quite fitting, will sell on, but thought I should seize the moment.

(Although I realise that I've been really REALLY crap at following people back, and will try to remedy some of that when there is more mental energy to go round. Sorry all.)

Just so lovely to read.
Passing a service assessment is *comparatively* easy if you're doing the right work the right way, but hard if you're trying to paper over the cracks. Sometimes you need outside eyes, and a bit of a mandate, to help reset. That's not failure.
So so glad this is working out.

(Oh, actually, it’s not *quite* all. I should also be exhorting you all to be listening to the new Self Esteem album lots, natch.)

In hindsight, if I can deal with the cognitive load of having two slightly-different mixer modules, I’ve actually ended up with something loads more powerful and flexible.
“Honour your mistake as a hidden intent” etc.

Spoiler for the weeknote, if I feel up to one: had quite a big weep. So well done Rebecca.

Absolutely. If they even recognize him at first. Human brains are lazy!
There’s also the “not recognising your own shadow” thing to get through, from personal experience back in the late 80s.

Gah. And I was *so* close to visiting Tate today, now the Rothkos are back up, but eventually decided I was feeling too flattened.
A chance coffee and chat would have been a delight.

I think TOTP used to cost the BBC almost nothing, because Worldwide made so much from it. Top Gear may have been heading slightly the same way before the big schism.

Pilots will have been made. Some series even commissioned. But nothing will have emerged where those in charge say “yes, it’s time to move HIGNFY to another timeslot/price because this newer thing will bring in more viewers”.
(Also it may have other revenue streams, for HatTrick to make it cheap)

There’s not anything better at a price the commissioners can afford.

I’ve had countless days where I’m in bed exhausted before 9, then wide awake at 1am for 3-4h, just hoping I will drop off again. Only to be woken up at the worst bit of the sleep cycle when I finally do drop off.
Today though, spent a very unexpected and unplanned chunk of the day asleep!

I am increasingly resigned to this as probably a thing. Rather than weakness of moral character.
