Yeah. Like not taking battle casting for a concentration caster feels like a fucking death sentence honestly. And so many feats in 5e are "This will come up once because your dm felt bad for you" or "Necessary for the class to actually feel usable"

Exactly that. Like I'm getting a feat that makes it so I can expend one ap (love the ap system so much) and I can stow 2 items and equip 2 weapons. Which is so good for me since I need to get my medkit out to battle medic or equip both my weapons at the same time.

And fighter who fights with shield is not like the entire point of the class either. And at level 6 you get some shit like "you can now throw your shield 10 feet as a weapon. It doesn't return to you" 5e balancing makes so little sense sometimes. But yeah you get it. It's really eye opening

But I get to support with battle medic! She can attack with her med bag pretty decently too. Being able to quickly swap weapons and etc is really fun. My build is scattered and weird but these things feel useful and establish a character identity.

I'm a 2 weapon build that mainly deals damage with double slice. I use improvised weapons since it's in character for her to not always want to use her sword by the books. And also combat assessment for being able to get some info off all the weird stuff we fight.

I absolutely love how p2e lets characters breathe and not feel pigeonholed into their archetype. My fighter is all over the place build wise but she does what she needs and it all fits with her story.
