I thought that when we were naming the VAs as the characters that we all knew that it was a joke or a bit. Like, sorry that they don't want to lose their role forever? As if Hoyoverse wouldn't replace them completely the moment they had the samples.

And it baffles me when these types of comments come directly from artists. Hell I unfollowed an user that was one of the pillars of the digimon fandom because they deadass called Paimon's VA an R slur. And they do ART. It's gone so I'm hoping they deleted that comment themselves cause hooly...

Because that's the root of the issue. It's not about ego it's not about going rogue hell it's not even about money. What do you mean they have to choose between not working now and get replaced or working now and be replaced forever? That's insane.

Maybe if we had treated them as people instead of the characters from the start then we wouldn't have people harrassing the actors because it turns out they aren't the perfect silly characters that they perform and would like to be paid for all of their work.

You can't be a leftist and defend gen-AI. Because it requires saying that the product is more important than people who make it, and if people don't come first, you're not a leftist. Gen-AI doesn't free a person from a menial assembly line job. It makes an artist unable to pursue their passion.
