I think their propaganda that they have a mandate has worked on a lot of people, leaving them demotivated & feeling isolated. Of all of the lies of theirs to attack, that’s the one.

Wish I’d known decades ago that the best tool for the revolution would be coding.

The list of people who “didn’t think it would affect them!” Is getting longer & longer

Every assumption is a confession

Thx - just got to work but taking a look asap

I don’t either. I saw that a protest was scheduled for downtown at the Capitol on Pres Day - but it appears that was just somebody’s wishful thinking because I’ve seen no suggestion of it in any of the usual alt pubs; just an example of the problem.

So then maybe the national platform is just growing organically.

Yeah and it’s the worst time to be starting from scratch. I think these people are several groups coordinating now www.fiftyfifty.one

Yep - people feel alone, and out numbered - by design. But, I’m a broken record - we need a platform with natl reach to direct mass collective action. If it’s just you & the 5 other people who heard about the action, then it’s not as persuasive for the ‘faint of heart’ so to speak.

That’s why I am so frustrated with some Dems ‘oh well he won’ attitude. He won by 2 mil votes & I bet a good 1/3 of those had no idea that these things would happen - right wing propaganda took care of that. Then there’s the 90 mil who, if they affirmatively wanted this, would have voted for it.

lol. Nice.

No matter what happens in the next four years, it’ll be the ‘Dems’ fault. Their chosen scapegoat. Not that some of them aren’t happy to throw other groups in the bonfire while they’re at it.

Project 2025 was written to remove any constrictions on the extractive class while carefully couching it in enough right-wing ‘Christian’ referents - the cult really is an almost perfect Trojan Horse - to hide behind.

Yep.

If this kind of thing can be widely communicated, it’s very powerful. It shows all of us how many of us there are. This is why we need a platform that can call for collective action. (We will be doing this.)

I feel like it might not have been what ‘this guy’ was wearing that was the trigger here.

Dems were the only opposition party there possibly was & they’re MIA. We need to call people to collective action. How.
comment in response to post
I’m disgusted & livid. He needs to step aside if this is all he brings. What do they have? Tens of mils Americans ready to act, that’s what they have. Pathetic.
comment in response to post
Would like to post this all over everywhere.

Well, posting an Amazon link didn’t work! It’s Technofeudalism by Varoufaki (& it’s been awhile so I’m wondering if he actually used ‘technofascist’ or not).
comment in response to post
Unbelievable how absolutely useless they’ve been as an opposition party - or as the opposition party they claimed to be. Especially because now is the time - this is it. There’s a coup happening & we need the kind of collective leadership that can call for collective action and be heard by all.

I’ve been reading a great book which calls them technofascists. I might like diginazis better 🙂

In just a few days. Because he’s as much a genius as he is a video game master.

Perfect.

And that’s how you do it. If we had an opposition party, it would be contacting people in your position, getting a group of similarly affected people together and taking action.
comment in response to post
Delusional cultists. Doesn’t mean they’re not dangerous. Be prepared.
comment in response to post
I would not be remotely surprised if each of these things was on their to do list.
comment in response to post
Totally agree. I’m starting to think they were only ever a fundraising operation.
comment in response to post
think the problem is coordination. Without an opposition party to call for protests or strikes, any action taken is so diluted as to be ineffectual. And agreed w below - this is a hill I’m willing to die on. I bet there are 70 mil people ready to take it to the streets this minute.
comment in response to post
Dems are ready for collective action. Call for protests, strikes, whatever it takes.
comment in response to post
Can’t imagine why she’d do that.
comment in response to post
They left out the tax cut for the rich - trillions of dollars again? That’s why they want to cut USAID, they have to pay the oligarchs who bought them the govt back.
comment in response to post
Hope you’re sending a mailer out to all of the farmers. When they have to ration water, Trump will blame it on somebody else & they’ll never hear different. That’s been a big part of the problem all along - the propagandists are flooding the social commons.
comment in response to post
I’m sure NONE of the others in this small band of technofascists had ANY idea that that’s who they were hanging out with. It’s not like any of them are openly Nazis or anything.
comment in response to post
Also, if they have a mandate why are they so scared of Americans that they’re firing them all? A mandate would mean they’d be welcome. Wouldn’t it?
comment in response to post
It’s money that isn’t going to the owner class. Just like education.
comment in response to post
This too.
comment in response to post
This is what an opposition party looks like. Please take the rest of the Dems who are prepared to act appropriately in the face of this threat & splinter off into a party people can be proud of. We need leaders for collective action. We’re ready.
comment in response to post
They may want kids to be able to read signage, but books? There’s just no way to keep an idea or two from sneaking in.
comment in response to post
Asking Republicans to stop Trump is like asking the SS to stop Hitler. They ARE Trump. We need national level collective action leadership & that was only going to come from an opposition party. And now it turns out there isn’t one. So yeah.
comment in response to post
I think they think they’re a fund raising operation. They claimed to be the opposition party but I’m starting to think that was just a fund raising pitch.
comment in response to post
This is what an opposition party would have been doing all along. What they should be doing now is calling for national collective action & getting injunctions to stop this. To hear they’re ‘considering’ is making my blood boil.
comment in response to post
Dang it. And there was absolutely nothing in his 30 or so years in the public eye, including statements made since 2016 and analyzed by multiple outlets for their veracity or batsh*t craziness which could have possibly given them a hint that this might happen.
comment in response to post
The MAGA party perpetrating this hostile takeover would find our criticism as hilarious as when we let them steal a Sup Crt seat. Dems claimed to be, & were our only option, for an opposition party. They should be leading collective action not just asking for donations.

I wish we had an opposition party. The Dems have proved to be absolutely useless & it’s infuriating. They’re just a funding org, apparently. Wish we’d known that a decade ago There are tens of millions of Americans ready to take action but ZERO orgs to coordinate any collective action.
