BREAKING: @kenklippenstein.bsky.social the next big YouTuber, has published his first long form video youtu.be/9JP2pjIRX3o?...

If this isn't unconstitutional, then nothing is. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/u...

Gasparino's been right a lot and wrong a lot, but if he's right, he's unwittingly saying that the White House leaks information to friendly investors who can front-run the markets

Where this ends up: Nobody gets SSI disability anymore, anytime, ever. Nobody gets hired who isn't regime loyal. And "research" says that Social Security payments should never go up.

At some point, universities are portable, and their endowments are portable, and it's a competitive global marketplace for talent.

Yeah, I think there’s essentially no going back from the damage Trump has done. Even if he were removed tomorrow, America has proven it can be duped into electing a dangerously unstable person, and you can’t really make long term plans centered on an “ally” like that.

People badly misunderstand the environmental concerns of LLMs. It's environmentally indistinguishable from any other big pile of compute that a GPU does. You might as well freak out about the environmental impact of Fortnite.

Americans won’t really pay attention until they find out getting a Nintendo Switch 2 may take six months. They may take notice when antibiotics are in short supply along with the most commonly prescribed drugs for high blood pressure and cancer.

Let's stop it with this "50% chance of a recession" bullshit. We are in one. And it's about to get a lot deeper in a consumer-driven economy when there is nothing left on store shelves to buy, which is only a few weeks away.

At long last someone has identified RFK Jr.'s support base: the 9% of people who have a favorable opinion of the Black Plague

25 years in, CVEs are the unsung heroes of cybersecurity—vital, boring, and totally underappreciated. They’re not broken, but they are strained. Here’s how we make the next 25 even better: shostack.org/blog/cve-fut...

I was wondering why my stock portfolio was down today. Turns out most of the EU exchanges are closed on Easter Monday, so there's nothing to balance out the burning dumpster fire that is the US.

Another friendly reminder from your pals at #defcon The deadline main #defcon33 Call for Papers, the Call for Workshops and the Call for Demo Labs are almost upon us. Submissions need to be in by May 1. Waiting for the last minute? It's just about here. Don't […] [Original post on defcon.social]

This is supposed to be the kind of thing you read about in a failed state, but I guess that's where we're at.

Washington just took the reasonable step of not allowing the National Guard of other states to operate here without our agreement. It’s not the Guard personnel we are concerned about, it’s other governors in the Trump cult. katu.com/news/local/g...

We all know exactly who's tanking the economy and no amount of blaming JD Vance or Jerome Powell or anyone else whose name starts with J will change that.

The newsrooms of 21st century America exist in a parallel factual universe where questions are raised and raised again, sometimes prompting concerns, sometimes prompting further questions, but never, ever answers.

Holy shit, Japan is *pissed*

All the AI companies scraping the Internet Archive for its unique content should pay a fee that would be used to help defend the IA from legal threats for hosting abandoned content. AI companies preserve a wellspring, and the public gets a place to preserve old materials.

They should require that anyone with a blue check must use two-factor authentication.

DONK DONK

I don’t care it’s your pillow

This case involving a molotov being thrown at a Tesla was assigned to an FBI agent on a Weapons of Mass Destruction Squad. Seems like overkill?

I think that it's not clearly understood how much this is going to cost taxpayers. The federal government is a *terrible* customer. They lowball on price. There is a huge amount of red tape/paperwork. And they take forever to pay. Businesses only put up with all of this because of the stability!

under joe biden we had three (3) irs commissioners in 4 years under trump we have had four (4) irs commissioners in *checks notes* 4 *months*

Being thrown under the bus couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
