I'm a retired nurse, who likes nature, sea swimming, walking and animals. I enjoy crafts and photography. I have posterior cortical atrophy which is a form of Alzheimer's Disease. So I see photography as capturing moments. My photos are my own not AI

As Harley has gotten older, he wants more cuddles but usually it's under the bed covers whilst I'm still in the bed. I think if Rosa was more of a cuddly cat, he would snuggle with her but she really isn't 😬😊 So he has to make do with me #caturday

Soul mates.. 😊

This. 💙 A simple reminder: Positions are temporary, ranks and titles are limited, but the way you treat people will always be remembered. #KindnessMatters #Humanity #Respect #Compassion #LifeLessons

In 2016, the SWT team found a female elephant calf lying on her side atop a mound of earth that had been dug out of a water pan. She seemed just moments away from death. Today, eight years down the line, she's grown into an elegant and much loved member of the Ithumba herd: swt.bio/malima

Some cool light rays over Grand Canyon Cape Royale… Funny story about this shot is I ended there by total coincidence. Full story in ALT. #bluesky #photography #nature #art #landscape #light #travel

Dreaming of a better world 🐺

Some people only notice your absence when they can’t use you anymore.

Milk time is go time! Mzinga, Olumunyak, Nyambeni, and Shujaa arriving in an elephant train for their warm bottles of the good stuff! Although Nyambeni has clearly decided that today she doesn’t want the ‘effort’ of holding her own bottle… lucky she has attentive Keepers, like Titus, on hand!

This Valentine’s Day, share your love in a truly meaningful way by adopting an orphan in our care. Your thoughtful gift will not only touch the heart of your loved one but also provide essential support to these precious animals on their journey back to the wild. sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/adopt

Goblin Ha’—a hidden chamber tied to one of Scotland’s best legends. In the 13th century, Hugo de Giffard, the ‘Wizard of Yester,’ supposedly summoned goblins to build it. Magic or myth, it’s been standing for centuries, and that’s spooky enough on its own #legends #folk #wizard

All you Bluesky people are thoroughly lovely. Thank you for hanging out and sharing birds, bugs, sunsets and more together. An absurdly adorable Tufted Titmouse to wish you a Happy New Year #birds 🌿

Smol baby..🐄🐾😊

Went for a rather muddy walk on Monday to Western Heights in Dover with a friend and her dog. It was very misty and we got lucky as the heavens opened as we got back to the car.

It's extremely hard to get a photo of Harley so I managed to get one this morning when he was having a little cuddle. #cats

This little guy comes to visit daily. If I haven't put food out then he comes onto the conservatory roof and knocks on the window. He is quite cheeky 😂

Mycenaceae, I love finding fungi off the ground. It means I don’t have to get dirty or be mistaken for a dead body lying on the ground (this has happened many times) and I can get a nice clean view of them. #fungifriends #fungi #mycology #naturephotography

When Words Fade, Love Remains 💙 Some forms of dementia rob a person of their speech, but not the ability to feel or connect. Imagine if a smile was your only way to communicate. Their smile could be worth a thousand loving words. 💕 Repost if you agree! #alzheimers #caregiving #endalz

Twiggy, our tallest orphan, decided it was time for a little fun with Chamboi today! Moments like these remind us of the incredible personalities and relationships that develop among our orphans as they grow and thrive. Support their care: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans #WildlifeConservation
