Yes it is like a kink in a hose. We grow up in a heteronormative world only seeing heteronormative narrative and then you realize you’re not that and you can’t connect to your community until you are 18 basically. It sucks like all they need is one person telling them they believe in them and love 💕

Same with being gay and seeing it a grooming. Instead those of us that did come out before 18 were usually struggling with it alone or among other queer people our age who are also not sure where to go. I was privileged enough to grow up in Chicago and find community but that’s rare

That’s just the number we are aware of. It breaks my heart especially as someone that came out at 15 i remember how lonely it was before I found my queer theatre community. We are so siloed into our gay nightlife and culture but we need more intergenerational events.
