I'd disagree here. I think it's all part of rationalisation and de-skilling. Admin work is skilled work, which is why the untrained do it poorly. HEIs are devaluing work by deskilling and passing on things like admin to academics. This way they can cut staff numbers and precarise that work too.

This is a de facto hard border being implemented against international agreements by two police forces known for discriminatory checking and racial profiling.
