I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped

Awesome! And in case y’all haven’t seen it yet; cause I know you probably have things to add! @maralina.bsky.social @gipperfish.bsky.social @adameham.bsky.social

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

Without downloading any new pics, where are you mentally?

I would add the additional tip for women looking to slip away unnoticed in a male dominated workplace: point out that something is broken and wait for 3-5 men to gather to state their expertise in said topic and argue over which way of fixing it will work best. Then duck out.

Join us on 3/27 for a Criminalization 202 for Info Workers workshop session. It will not be recorded. ASL and Live Captioning are provided. Registration is at no cost to participants: www.interruptingcriminalization.com/events/all/c...

I am hosting an organizer co-working/drop in space. It's a space to get work done that you might not have time to do otherwise & to do it with other organizers. Next session is March 30: www.eventbrite.com/e/1257606989...

Forming close contacts with individuals from "out-groups" can help overcome biases. Two #transgender state reps in Montana recently convinced colleagues to vote against anti-trans bills by making the issue personal: buff.ly/iGiy8hj #psychology

Reminding myself that nearly all people are good people just trying to live a life worth living

From inside the DoD: “Schumer's bungling over the past two months & creation of this lose-lose scenario is a complete dereliction of his duties. This was the sole moment where they had any real potential leverage to stand up and fight for the Constitution & they completely blew it from day 1.”

Time to go @durbin.senate.gov

I’m really worried about the loss of information that’s happening right now… I’m encouraging people to PLEASE save web pages (and data and research) in Internet Archive so it can still be accessed. Email me if you need help! #archiveresearch #archivedata

I got ahold of @duckworth.senate.gov people but @durbin.senate.gov goes straight to canned message. Number isn’t on his website right now either, which is super problematic.

Good.

WHO DID THIS 😂

🧪

Look I'm a religious person and also a leftist. I know that some on the lefts have antipathy for religion. I've experienced that. I also know that my religion does NOT give me permission to abrogate other people's human rights. And if I did that, I would deserve what's coming to me.

Good news alert! CDC data restored. restoredcdc.org/www.cdc.gov/

Problematic disconnect of institutes with expertise (NCI, NIAID, NIMH, etc etc etc) this is consolidating power, not saving money or time. 🧪 www.nih.gov/news-events/...

This worries me: omniscient centralized entities controlled by partisan interests are not good news for Science www.nih.gov/news-events/... 🧪

I'm sorry for raining on this parade, but the "transgender mice" talking point is bullshit, but not because someone mistook "transgenic" for "transgender." The blog post that kicked it off (from a partisan bullshit website) listed a number of papers testing the effects of sex hormones on animals.

French Senator Claude Malhuret: "Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine... We were at war with a dictator, we are now at war with a dictator backed by a traitor."

Happy #fluorescencefriday Bluesky! This week, we are sharing a quick video of a 3D render of #alzheimers disease microglia from a Z-stack captured on our VS200 🧪🧠 We are excited to be connecting with so many research groups world-wide! We continue to be inspired by everyone’s posts each week!

Random: didn’t realize how important Zack and Kelly’s relationship was in my emotional memories, but I heard “How Am I Suppose to Love Without You” on the radio this morning and it made me very sad. #Savedbythebell
