Donald Trump ends the American empire. It had to happen sooner or later. In their vaunted wisdom, the electorate asked him to be their leader. Twice. Neatly aiming a knife at their own heart. This is a sad sad downfall.

Does anyone else occasionally have an overwhelming desire to watch Star Wars: A New Hope in order to recharge the batteries and remind themself of what epic, immediate, character-driven storytelling looks like??? I’m getting that feeling.

Make me happy and click this: trentlewin.com. Because it's the last time you'll see these, buddy!

I refuse to believe that Americans are dumb. But it's become incredibly apparent that some of them are just not very smart, supporting as they do an agenda that will continue to harm the most vulnerable amongst them. I have never seen a movement where people support their own downfall. It's weird.

I’ve always been proud to be Canadian. Moreso today than ever. Our leader spoke up, was coherent, direct, articulate, and firm, in the face of a bully mentality that is diminishing the US in the eyes of the world.

Zelensky stands up to Trump and refuses to be bullied. Near every Republican in American does the opposite. It's almost like Trump supporters are so desperate to win something that they'd be fine even if winning meant working covertly for Russia. The US is being sold out. It's horrible to watch.

There is no comfort zone in good writing. If you aren't pushing and daring yourself and going way outside the lines, what's the point? I often freak myself out with my own words. It's the only time I know that they're any good. Cheers to madness and delight.

I watched the theatrical cut of Blade Runner with my daughter today. She thought it was interesting but a bit boring. When I was her age, I didn't get the flick at all. About two years later, I watched it again and couldn't get it out of my mind. For me, a top three movie of all time. Profound.

Next year, the theatrical cut of Donnie Darko will turn 25. In all that time, it’s the only perfect movie made.

You have to have a first post sooner or later. I got my coffee. Some rolled oats and a robe. Fluffy slippers.
