The truth is most of us will never feel "Good Enough", there will always be a hint of imposter syndrome in even the greatest talents. My advice is to do your best to push past that voice and create anyways, if nothing else youll learn valuable skills and find talents you didn't know you had! TY btw

As for what inspires me now, it is by far my team. Many have joined when this idea wasn't fleshed out and was barely notes on napkins, and yet they poured their love and passion into my vision. For that, I want to make this game as good as it can possibly be, and put their names out there for more!

All in all, it's been a long 4 years, but I've spent every moment of it working with wonderfully talented folks. I wouldn't trade my past experiences for the world. I am deeply inspired by many other roguelikes, creators, and studios who have made it work! Thank you for making posts like this!

So I decided to take some advice from a previous mentor, "If a role doesn't exist for you, write one." So I grabbed friends and members from previous projects, snagged a few of those folks I admire that were impacted, and we've be in development for a few months now! Hopefully a studio to come!

However, a very real element is desperation. I have tried for 4 years now to break into the industry, but having never gone to college nor having published work, studios wouldn't give me a chance. Paired with the industry burning around me and even the people I admire being let go, I needed change.

As for development with my own game, it started for a few reasons. The first, and likely most common for folks, I had an idea and a vision I wanted to see brought together. That and my previous projects were beginning to run their course, and I wanted something to poor more creative passion into.

First thing I said to my friends before even hopping in a match

we really haven't even announced some of our stuff and have had studios that specialize in trying to make NFT's try to pitch their services to us. It's ridiculous. Right there with you on the frustration

I agree, though I think in a lot of the emotional or sad momemtd femme V takes the cake. Both are talented voices actors and I love their work, def with you on Male V though

and of course, really sorry to hear about all this. Got a bit ahead of myself, but it is genuinely a shame to see the industry in this state and hold back so many talented folks from being able to create truly remarkable experiences for people.

As much as I would adore to have someone of your skills and caliber on my team, we simply don't have the funding yet. Should that change however, would you like me to reach out to you? I'm aiming to break some hearts with our writing as well!

Thank you! Absolutely can share! The game is a Cyberpunk Deckbuilder Roguelike called "Discarded" that centers around the player being pulled deeper and deeper into a corporate conspiracy. Originally the idea was to build a deckbuilder where you discard cards to play them, but it's changed a bit!

Yeah, sorry for that. Character limit makes it a tad hard to dive into details here. Shooting you a friend request and we can chat there! Ty!

Hey Name, it'd be a ways out, but would you be interested in doing some work in the games industry potentially? If so, hmu I'd be happy to yap! Directly inspired by this post

Yes! these videos have been getting me through the security shift I've been working! Great work as always, Tart!

If we are talking solely game recommendations, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the vocal tracks from "Pyre" However, one thing I'd love to see more of is the educational side and deconstructing how you, well, deconstruct music and understand it better. Also Mob Psycho on Marcoweebball 🙏

Hey Victor! Here are somethings about me: - Attempting to start an indie studio. - our first game is just about to reach internal playtesting. - I used to farm Alpaca as a kid. - I have a deep love of games and music as a means to tell stories.

Take it easy on yourself, Man! Content creation is rough and the videos this past week have been great! I can relate though, but more on the game dev side of things. Take it easy and try to avoid burning out!
