It should hopefully have appeal to the newer fans but there’s plenty of goodies packed into it for us elder Gunotas. You can tell the Studio Khara staff on the project are big fans as well.

Very much looking forward to digging back into the anime. I’ve done a cursory examination of the massive art book and while I have a lot of it across various Macross art books, there are a few things in it I hadn’t seen before.

One day, I spotted issue 9 of the Viz 0083 film comic adaptation in my local comic shop. Looking for anything mecha-anime related, I picked it up and so began a long and sometimes contentious relationship with the franchise.

It was fall of 1994, I was already an anime fan, mostly through Macross and how it was brought to America. I was aware that Gundam was a thing but had never really encountered it.

The Viz 0083 film comics. I found them in a local comic store in the fall of 1994. I was aware that Gundam was a thing, these were the first actual Gundam items I ever actually came across.
