I agree with Xuu! Artstation is popular, but I don't know much about it past that.

Yeah, the degree to which danbooru is a load-bearing pillar of the AI-generated hentai ecosystem cannot be overstated lmao. Sadly danbooru's users are like that DW meme where it's "that won't stop me because I can't read!" you can literally slap a DON'T UPLOAD TO DANBOORU and they'll still do it.
comment in response to post
Apologies for the soapbox there lol, every time I see AI discussion nobody seems to know how important that site is to anime AI models (and how much of its userbase just does not care about 'no reupload' watermarks)
comment in response to post
Every tag on Danbooru will be fed to the AI, and they have a tag for everything. Low res uploads, watermarks, "adversarial noise" (glaze), etc. Because DB tags for that, the AI learns what those are, and anybody using an AI can tell their generator to avoid adversarial noise, watermarks, etc.

Also a big one, arguably the biggest one if you have an 'anime' style: DMCA all your art off danbooru. Get added to the banned artist list. Their elaborate tagging system means that every big anime-focused AI model, without exception, trains heavily off that site.

The rest of the world may be cowards, but I am ready for the David inspo board. I need to see his roots (dead anime moms)

Not too many new words today, but got a big chunk of the original block knocked out. 1.7k of the original left, 15.4k words. Habe I ever said I thought this would be a short VN.
comment in response to post
15k words, 2.8k left of the original block! Wahoo.
comment in response to post
14k words now. Of the original 7k 'block', there's still about 3.6k left I need to revise.

Yup. Soulsov's latest chapter did a really good job of it, IMO. The author's webcomic background really shines through in the direction of the visuals.

It's got a lot of potential for directing, too! If you've got something like a military battle for example, you can move the column to the center and show the two armies on either side. Which would feel more natural than the good 'ol vertical line dividing two completely separate shots approach.

Remember, if somebody buys 50 copies of OTD and you don't think you can drink all that without dying, it is always ethical to offload some of the drinks onto your infant. Honestly, they should thank you for it, that stuff's expensive and they're getting it for free -life advice from Victoria Masters

Nice! Really loved the sprite art direction being a sorta 3d-esque sorta thing!

There were a lot of other big fandoms on tumblr out there at the time (Superwholock, Disney, etc) but none of them really were the creative career juggernaut that Homestuck was! It really was one of those things where you had to be there. Don't think something of that scale will ever happen again.
comment in response to post
It really is interesting seeing the trajectories of people who first really emerged on the scene during Homestuck's heyday. The Kevin Bacon of creative careers.

Cool, thank you! They're all great designs.

Cool setup! Can I ask who the bugs on the left in the second photo are (and the one with the tail on the far right, second photo)?

Got the rough draft done, 7000 words! End result will probably be a lot longer, rough drafts for me are just blocking in the actions.

If it's just setting up 3D backgrounds in Blender it's easy, but so much of this is animated! Props to the developer.

*Umineko exposition voice* within the confines of the catbox of 2086 [city name redacted], all possibilities exist at the same time, so long as the box is kept closed. Until the devs open the box, quantum entanglement allows for these characters to be both yaoi and yuri at the same time.

Could we please get a pronoun circle on the funky new guys? Loving the Gender that greenie and poncho are putting out.

Looks spiffy! As a heads up, there's a couple typos on the itch page. "To bad the world might end at midnight." -> too "provide the beats you dance away last few " -> away your last few Alone in the crowd with glowsticks, chapstick, and cell phone -> with your glowsticks,
