I mean, that is a very valid coping strategy, and emotionally accurate. As someone dealing with a difficult time with my parents too, my vote is to think about it however makes it feel less bad / more tolerable. 🫂🫂🫂

It's also hilarious to me that my The Last of Us fics have way more hits than any of my OFMD fics, even though I've never set foot in that fandom and I've basically set up permanent residence in the OFMD fandom. (That reminds me, I have a couple of unfinished Bill & Frank fics too...)

Amazing! I feel the same - I NEVER thought I'd publish any writing anywhere. And yeah, my fics aren't great, but it was satisfying to do and I'm proud I got out of my comfort zone and actually shared them! Good on you! I'm proud of you!

Ooof, I know the feeling. I signed up for a swimming class in high school because I didn't know how to swim yet, and it turned out to be a lifeguarding class. So everyone else was an incredibly STRONG swimmer. First class they were like, "OK, let's see where everyone's at one at a time!" Mortifying.
