If nothing else, consider taking one of his winter-themed classes. He has a particular knack for snow scenes and they are my absolute favorite landscapes to paint. Here are a couple of mine from previous classes <3 (end)

Here's his upcoming class that I'll be taking as I'm interested in composition and designing for own work. Registration for my next session of online classes is now open. This session features my new class The Elements of Design: Creating Dominance." rsurowiczart.com/2025-summer-...

He's great at giving critique no matter your painting level. Even if you don't paint in watercolor, his methods translate very well to other painting mediums and he's very well-versed in the elements and principles of design which can enhance anyone's understanding of composition. (?)

The classes are incredible value - ~$130 for 6 weeks of content, 3 reference photos each week for practice on your own time, a template of the underdrawing, live demonstrations on zoom and/or recordings available for a minimum of a year, and feedback on your paintings if you choose. (2/?)

Other people that have heavily influenced my learning - Oliver Pyle, @sarahburnsstudio.bsky.social Sarah Burns (highly recommend her Patreon, it's incredible value for your money), Andy Evansen, and @carsondrewit.bsky.social . Nobody does things alone, we all learn from each other ❤️

Wow I am blown away by how well received my painting is! I appreciate the reposts, likes, and comments - it's such a boost! I'm self-taught and wanted to share my resources. This particular painting is from a class by Rick Surowicz. He offers tons of free content on his page and YT. rsurowiczart.com

Lots of spattering pigment and flicking clear water with my fingers while the paper is in various stages of "wet" "damp" or dry 😃♥️. You can also flick clear water when it's dry and then strike with a downward motion with a paper towel vs blotting

Really lovely work. I have Ruth's book but haven't really dived into gouache a whole lot. Inspiring!
