Which part of the Constitution establishes Elon Musk? Is that the preamble? It must come before Article I, right?

Huh. I get the public health case against gas stoves and even single stroke leaf blowers but I'll just say this seems like a bigger problem in terms of climate policy and we should stop framing those other things as climate policy, because none of that matters for the climate while this is true.

Self care is important

News from the #IRS: Audits of the rich are on the chopping block. $163 billion in unpaid taxes is at stake. Who benefits? Not working people.

Counterpoint: no, we shouldn't

weird that DOGE is E-GOD backwards and Elon Musk has talked about creating a digital god with AI. Wonder if there's anything satanic about that?

Hey so we shouldn't cut Social Security for more reasons than I can fit in a single post, but its probably bad to cut Social Security (which has never missed a payment in its entire history) at the same time that Trump's tariffs are decimating people's 401k's. @socialsecurityworks.org

Uh I don't think any of that is right about what our ancestors did but it's hard to know because Christianity eliminated most of the folk medicine in Europe before the Puritans hopped the ocean to eliminate the folk medicine in North America too. Apparently we won't do either science or folk med

So this doesn't seem that whacky anymore what with the blatant pump and dump scheme they're doing blueridgebreakdown.substack.com/p/is-doges-r...

Six months too late to start on this messaging

Maybe someone will find this picture helpful considering, I mean, all/ any of it.

The Social Security Administration is offering buyouts to employees as they prepare to make major staff cuts. This will hurt seniors who need help with their benefits. www.cbsnews.com/news...

Sexual assault is already against the law? So you prosecute that. Just like if a woman assaulted a woman in a woman's bathroom. Or if a man assaulted a man in a man's bathroom. Or if an assault happened in a unisex bathroom The crime is actually the assault, not being in the "wrong" bathroom

Friendly reminder that Joann Fabrics isn’t closing because it’s a bad business. It’s closing bc it was bought by a private equity firm. This is also what is happening to Hooters and what happened to US Toys R Us and Red Lobster. These companies are being dismantled intentionally.

Where are the federal workforce in West Virginia? A 🧵... Below is a cartogram of Census 2023 ACS Estimates by county. 🌐 🏛️ 🗺️ 📊 WV

Congress is about to vote on a Republican budget that would destroy Medicaid. These 17 House Republicans won by fewer votes than the number of people they want to steal health care from. We are sending billboards to their districts to demand they vote NO on the budget.

This is what leadership looks like, if any Democratic consultants were wondering

Monopolists be like. But with a question mark instead of a comma and a period instead of a question mark

Agency liberal because Liz Warren do it. Smash liberal agency with big rock.

From yesterday's commentary -- find the full video below!

Years ago I was told that some unions oppose single payer b/c they wouldn't want to lose their ability to negotiate for better health care. I've met ONE person in a union who told me this since. Everyone else has been clear they they'd like to be able to negotiate w/o risk of losing healthcare.

Today's commentary (February 19, 2025) blueridgebreakdown.substack.com/p/build-to-l...

Americans agree: The wealthy pay too little in taxes. Billionaires and big corporations keep raking it in—while Republicans give working families the crumbs. We 👏 deserve 👏 better 👏 www.dataforprogress.org/blog/2025/2/... @dataforprogress.org @thesbpc.bsky.social

My illegal Pinkerton is driving me to my illegal hotel while the hallucination machine in my phone summarizes the emails my coworkers wrote using their hallucination machines. My burrito travels separately in its own limo. This is innovation and normal.

#nowspinning New record day: Jorma Kaukonen, "Land of Heroes" How can anyone not love Jorma, in any incarnation?

Elon Musk just called Social Security “the biggest fraud in history.” He also just gained access to the system that cuts seniors’ checks. As @alexsjacquez.bsky.social said, this is "a pretext to cut benefits for seniors to pay for his giant tax cut."

I still have faith in us I still have faith in us I still *sigh* have faith... In us. I still *deep sigh* I believe in us I really do I have to keep telling myself this cause it's not like evidence is abundant

“Elon Musk is not the leader of DOGE — the mysterious Trump administration operation overseeing an effort to break and remake the federal bureaucracy. In fact, he’s not even technically part of it at all, the White House said in court papers Monday night.”

“SSA has comprehensive medical records of people who have applied for disability benefits,” said Nancy Altman, president of Social Security Works. “It has our bank information, our earnings records, the names and ages of our children, and much more.”

I can't wait to see how he dresses for the part

🚨 SCOOP 🚨 The acting Social Security commissioner has left the agency after a clash over providing DOGE access to sensitive data It follows our reporting that DOGE is seeking access to personal financial data at the IRS for every taxpayer, business and nonprofit.

It's just how totalitarianism works. It's a non-party party apparatus and a nongovernmental governmental apparatus, which absolute mandate that covers anything it needs to and but isn't restrained by any of the Constitutional or legal restraints that state organizations face. @hartmannreport.com

I have friends who are genuinely confused when I point out to them that being politically engaged is a luxury item lots of folks don't invest time or money into. They don't think deeply about politics until and unless it directly affects them. It's an alien thought (and I get it!), but it's true.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said all of the state's 120 counties were impacted by the storm. "The biggest challenge of this event is it's everywhere."

If I see a single post about West Virginians/Appalachians deserving these floods because they voted for Trump....

Yah, if Democrats get a decisive win they're going to have to do something more than uphold norms, considering they'll be inheriting a Republic-turned-Empire.

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million. How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65 Note: In 2024 alone, Musk’s enterprises were awarded approximately $3 billion across nearly 100 federal contracts, averaging about $8 million per day.

AI will transform our democracy. Now is the time for states to set up guardrails to protect personal data, improve transparency and ensure election security.

Raising the retirement age is OUT OF THE QUESTION. Billionaires want to cut Social Security to work us to death and line their own pockets. It's our duty to stop them!

Wealth in an economy is like gravity. Billionaires are like black holes into which entire systems collapse.

Eh, same thing in WV, I believe by order of Americans for Prosperity -- err I mean our sock puppet governor Patrick Morrisey

The SAVE Act is the most dangerous voter suppression bill in modern history… hartmannreport.com/p/the-gop-ta...

Guess which federal program turns 90 years old this year, has kept generations of seniors out of poverty, and has never missed a payment? Answer: Social Security. #SocialSecurity @corybooker.com @democrats.org

Yep, I think we're seeing an absolute merger between the private sector's Big Brother potential and public sector's Big Brother potential into one totalitarian "Big Bro" blueridgebreakdown.substack.com/p/big-bro-sh...
