Sorry Kathy but I don’t know anyone who has any confidence that Collins can be beaten by anyone. And I know many people deeply involved in Maine politics.

Not sure that’s lot of voters care about Senate seniority. Mills would be an actually exciting candidate for once.

Keep in mind that Golden likes a lot of what is happening. Tariffs, increased fossil fuel support, border control, debt reduction (though that isn’t actually happening) He might not like the means (maybe) but he likes the ends. This is why he is sanguine about Trump.

The Republican Party is a death cult. I doubt that deaths in plane crashes would be any more important to them than deaths preventable by vaccines, or gun safety legislation, or addressing the climate crisis. They just don't care.

I have a strong suspicion that ‘overwhelming’ reps with calls etc. does nothing but puss them off. We need more effective strategies.

Maine is this high only because religious and philosophical exemptions to school vaccination were disallowed by law several years ago. ONLY medical exemptions are allowed now.

I think there are some thorny legal issues involved , certainly in cases where there is a religious objection to medical care, but I also know that in some states and some cases it has been held that doctors may override parental desires to save the life of a child.

Except for the fact that the goal isn’t to piss off legislators. It’s to shape their voting. So perhaps the Indivisible model isn’t very effective.
