Apathy kills democracy. If not us, who? If not now, when? Be creative. Resist. Never give up. Support The Democratic Party and those who break through the DOGE bs while we still have a democracy.

Donald Trump wants corrupt foreign leaders to build concentration camps to hold US citizens in an attempt to circumvent the constitution and rule of law.

Please read this from Senator Murphy and then urge your elected officials to do everything in their power to bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia home.

Your energy during the first weekend of this congressional recess was incredible. Let's keep the momentum going. Find an upcoming event near you (or plan a new one) to get your Members of Congress’ attention while they’re back home: indivisible.org/muskorus

We must all stand as a united front against the kidnapping and illegal detention of Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. Senator, I am willing to join you and help Organize other members of the House to do the same. @vanhollen.senate.gov

If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, the courts are unlikely to stop him. We wish there was some institution — businesses, media, law firms, universities, anything — that would save us. As with so much in this era, it will fall to the people to protect the republic.

Dems should be organizing on this - this is good. For those who are leaning in, please give them positive reinforcement today.

If some taxpayers decide not to file taxes because the IRS says it will share certain tax information filed by undocumented immigrants with ICE, it could cumulatively eliminate billions in tax revenue, experts say.

Oh dear you’re going to want to read this. Looks like DOGErs were caught exfiltrating NLRB data, likely on unions, for private (seemingly Elony) use. This is must read. What we’ve all suspected. But now details. www.npr.org/2025/04/15/n...

Mohsen Mahdawi should be a U.S. citizen. 🇺🇸

In a remarkable Oval Office meeting between President Trump and his Salvadoran counterpart on Monday, both leaders refused to return Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the United States. @naynagupta.bsky.social says administration officials are "lying to the American public" about the case.

Some major public institutions in Canada, including a pension management firm and a leading hospital, are advising staff against traveling to the US.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

A 14-year-old American boy and his two friends were gunned down by Israeli soldiers Sunday night. Their largely American village in the West Bank is wondering why Trump and the U.S. government have said so little about the killing of one of its citizens.

Australian beef exports to China are up nearly 40% as U.S. beef exports to China grind to a halt over the tariff fight.

An airport in South Korea was not meeting guidelines to prevent bird strikes despite repeated warnings before a Jeju Air Flight crashed in December and killed 179 people.

The latest Trumplaw emergency at SCOTUS is about the president's power to remove agency officials. It's a big deal. Here's my @economist.com analysis w/ insights from @williambaude.bsky.social , @stevevladeck.bsky.social and Sai Prakash www.economist.com/united-state...

Unvaccinated adults are uniquely vulnerable to the measles, because the disease only becomes nastier and deadlier with age. And the virus is finding them, @sarahzhang.bsky.social reports:

We call on @durbin.senate.gov @duckworth.senate.gov @jonathanjackson.house.gov @robinkelly.house.gov to fight for international students like Mohsen Madawi, to fight for all immigrants, to fight for all citizens whom Trump threatens to throw into foreign gulags. Speak out, fight for human rights!

Grabbed at his appointment to become a citizen. Is this who we are? 😕🇺🇸

Trump's executive orders targeting law firms are unconstitutional and threaten judicial independence. Firms should sue to stop them, Adam Unikowsky argues.

June 2024. El Salvador. This is how it started.

On this day, April 14, 2025, the President of the United States openly defied the Supreme Court’s unanimous opinion of April 10, 2025, ordering him to “facilitate Abrego Garcia’s release from custody in El Salvador

AOC: When he talks about rapists and criminals, he should look in the mirror

This is important.

MIT following Harvard's lead here

Bone chilling. A court ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to stay in the United States. The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that he was illegally removed. Trump is pretending he won the ruling 9-0. 1/ You may not think this case means anything to you. But let me tell you why it does.

DOJ just filed Status Report in Abrego Garcia case post Bukele meeting. On left: Supreme Court ruling that US Government must "facilitate Abrego Garcia's release from custody in El Salvador" On right: DOJ asserting only domestic policy changes and no effort to facilitate his release from custody

Vermont State Sen. Becca White, D-Windsor, a friend of Mohsen Mahdawi, was with him Monday morning when friends quizzed him on the Constitution. He went into the 11 a.m. appointment with his lawyer and a friend. Around noon, she got a text from someone inside saying Mahdawi was put in handcuffs.

Read Harvard’s response to the Trump Administration.

We called out Harvard in the past for inaction. So now we are happy to speak out with praise. This is a major step forward. It’s not just a lack of capitulation. It’s an aggressive effort leaning into public comms — exactly what is needed. Bravo to Harvard 👏

Since the Trump admin continues to claim Mr. Abrego Garcia is a gang member, I thought I'd take the time to put together a timeline, based on all the documents filed in court, which lays out all the "evidence" the government has ever offered. As you'll find out, there's very little "there" there!
