My takeaway is that, specifically in handheld mode, it’s subjective. You could A/B test and see which one you prefer. I personally leave HDR on. For anyone in the comments wondering about HDR optimization in docked, this video addresses it well. youtu.be/_BmkMcaqpX8?...

As a cusper/zillenial, I think AI is certainly a driver toward the current-day inclination toward perceived authenticity. I think there’s also an element of burnout around consuming short form digital content and managing online personas, igniting increased drive for more offline/“real” experiences.

As much as I like Sega otherwise, they’ve really messed up this release by not allowing for a free (or even $10) upgrade to the Switch 2 version of SxSG. They’re forcing owners of the Switch 1 version to buy an entirely new copy of the game if they want this upgraded version.

Even though I don’t like the idea of game key cards and I will never buy one, the way that these comments are expressing that opinion so non-transformatively and probably parroting their favorite content creator is annoying and such a waste of everyone’s time.

I think it’s a pretty bold assumption that MKW will provide the equivalent of a full game + DLC sort of experience. If there’s free DLC later, I’ll be happy to agree with you, but I think it’s more likely that the DLC will be paid.

Real fans would sell a kidney on the black market to have them.

Mario Kart 8 “Deluxe” originally included all available DLC at the time of its release, but the Booster Course Pass was introduced later. While this particular copy includes the Booster Course Pass, many other copies of MK8 Deluxe only come with the earlier DLC and do not include the newer content.

Happy birthday, Will! Your commentary is my favorite on the whole internet, and your vibes are immaculate. All the other comments are saying Alan Wake 2 so probably that. I’m more of a Pokemon Pinball guy myself.

I’ve been dying for an updated commentary and synthesis around Pure Invention’s later observations since finishing the book last year. This article is a much-needed DLC. Thanks Matt.

favorite moment of the episode was you bracing yourself to launch into a full-on RFK impression before stopping short of it and reading an article

NIH-funded scientist here, anyone in science knows how hard & stressful this job is competing for grants in administrations that support & believe in science. I am numb knowing what this administration is about to do to our jobs, our progress as a nation in science and medicine. We will not recover.
