I really enjoyed this video - I (like, I assume - many of your audience) enjoy research and the “thrill of the chase” of the rabbit you can see but not quite catch…

“Neither the VPPP agreement nor applicable law or regulations permit FHWA to unilaterally terminate the VPPP Agreement”
Oop, looks like the @mta.info did their homework.

I’ve put a policy in our draft Local Plan with a presumption against drive-thru - as these retail parks try and pivot from retail to leisure in the face of Amazon etc.
Instead, we want mixed use development on the sites!

I don’t know for sure - but the unions usually negotiate excellent benefits for their drivers, so I’d hope that is the case.
A pretty TfL memorial isn’t enough!

They have their issues (greenhouse in summer, no more all door boarding, hybrid unreliability) but I do think they’ve achieved Boris’ goal - they’re an iconic London bus!
People will be sad to see them go I think - probably not long left, given all buses are becoming zero emission…

My favourite track on the album remains Nightvision - the heart beat of the drum, combined the (almost) mournful, anxious but melancholy synths and chord progressions.
What is supposed to be an "interlude" track is so much more than that.

Saw an interesting article here this week explaining why Europe doesn’t buy American cars despite Trump’s protests - basically, they’re just too big 😅

Interestingly, Crossrail was originally designed with intervention shafts every 1km … community pushback and more cross passages meant that many of them were dropped

Because I’m replying “Yes… because I offered you one…”
Maybe Londoners are more direct about these things

Our current thoughts involve getting to Berlin (and potentially Poland?) by dinner, allowing Day 2 to involve Poland/Czechia/Slovakia/Austria/Switzerland, night train to somewhere useful, then Italy and France on the way back to Blighty?

Positive change is still happening despite the gloom - congestion pricing in NYC, for example (and great coverage from @nyc.streetsblog.org )

Do the MAGA types think the Canadians are “nice”, soft and likely to surrender ASAP?
They clearly don’t know Canadian history and the character of Canadians.
Trudeau lays it out well.

At present, Lime "operate" in Newham without any approval whatsoever - hence the desire by TfL and others to get agreements in place so that dumping of bikes etc can be prevented

Oh dear oh dear. And local authorities are penalised for not building enough when they’re not the ones doing the building!*

The glacial pace of construction says a lot about the housing crisis in the UK, that’s for sure!

My brother is very happy there - and I’m so happy for him!
It’s just not to my taste… or taste in urbanism!

I am not against greenfield new development in the right place - but this is a good example of not how to design it IMO.
Almere Poort in the Netherlands on the other hand - well connected , medium density, high quality buildings, good quality open space, walking + cycling first…
