I actually really like the alt text I put on this: …Andreeson explains how he and his oligarch buddies will use social media to first destroy real journalism and then try to hijack the narratives that cement society.

The right is the only place this imbecile would be described as an intellectual.

His gripe boils down to: dems fucked up my crypto bags and I’ll be damned if I let them fuck up my AI bags. That’s it.

The reason for banning TikTok? The propaganda risk from China? These billionaires and their MAGA allies are ALSO an enemy of a free & democratic USA.

Are most blockchains using quantum-safe crypto algos nowadays? Or moving that way? I haven’t been keeping up, just blithely assuming someone is fixing it :)

I actually think people don’t get it. Even though they know if someone puts a <famous brand> logo on a non-licensed item, it’s a knock-off. Banana art works basically the same. Is it because it lacks any trace of craft or aesthetics? That’s why it’s harder to grok?

Is it complain-about-identity-politics-in-art season again?

I didn't watch this, assuming the premise is that algos make the neat stuff virtually impossible to find Artists now need to work the algos to find an audience, which inevitably changes their work. Not necessarily bad, but do we want engagement algos having that power? Are they defining taste?

I’ve also described it simply as “shared state.” & cryptography manages perms to particular bits of that state. If people decide that state has financial value, why bad? But the validity of actions leading to that state is very important, so your description is better :)
