Federal employees are being harassed by internet trolls.

It really isn’t enough for me that these men will be recognized as evil after their power wanes

Age yourself with a movie you saw in the theater

Imagine being rich enough to do anything you want and choosing to take food and medicine from starving children to give yourself even more money.

Do you know the population of Norway? I knew it was small. Looked it up. 5.6 million people. Good job, Norwegians! Thanks for taking up the slack!

RFK is probably gonna ban my adhd meds because although this country rarely cares about public safety (guns, racism, sexual violence, etc.), when we do, it’s because whatever the thing is, it improves equity, (abortion, vaccines, SSRIs, etc.) and that’s unhealthy for access-based power.

I appreciate that my therapist’s attitude now is “things are completely out of control, inhumane, and in a state of collapse and if you are reacting in a way that demonstrates that you understand the gravity, that is the most normal reaction of all.”

One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

Truly horrible and cruel.

This is fabulous advice for anyone. Substitute science for your own passion (art, music, sports, gardening, etc).

Once again, I am here from Poland to tell you that predicating your response to a rule of law crisis on fear of how your opponents will frame your resistance is as ineffectual as it is solipsistic.

my view is that as soon as the administration froze disbursement of congressional appropriations we entered constitutional crisis territory

Googles response basically being “it’s not making things up, it’s just incapable of telling facts from made up bullshit” would have destroyed a product in the days before the economy was propped up by a thin framework of scams lashed together with investment capital

Interestingly, in Loper Bright vs Raimondo, the conservative majority on SCOTUS ruled just last year that the judiciary can in fact overrule regulatory decisions made by the executive branch especially when those decisions are not specified by Congress.

It's worth reiterating - Microsoft's own research indicates that use of generative AI degrades critical thinking skills and erodes confidence in unassisted decision making.

Every AI ad is just "you, the consumer, are a fucking moron. We know you can't find your ass with both hands and a fucking flashlight. Buy our product, swine."

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place advait.org/files/lee_20...

The Inuit may well have 50 or so words for snow but that's nothing compared to the number of ways my wife has for letting me know what a disappointment I am.

What’s the loss of a few million lives when proving a point takes priority? I was once a child refugee, surviving on USAID rations—without them, my family would have perished. I will never understand the deep-seated cruelty some people carry in their hearts.

Hey, everyone. Let's share Rose's website as far and often as possible. Her name was scrubbed from NASA's website thanks to orders to erase women in STEM. Rose fought through poverty and homelessness, and every time I look at the moon, I think of her. www.rosedf.space/explore

It’s being called the BYOB bill. In this case, though, it stands for Bring Your Own Blood. And the driving force, at least in part, is concern about donor blood contaminated by vaccines.

The gleeful axe murder of the government and our democracy and the Constitution is not, in fact, a thing we can agree to disagree on.

I've got to say, the guy who accidentally became the Director of the FBI does 100% look like the guy who accidentally becomes the Director of the FBI in a mid-2000s comedy about a guy who accidentally becomes the Director of the FBI
