I improved a few things about my self image, and started a relationship with some actual trust and emotional connection, and was like "holy shit, *this* is why people like having sex"
comment in response to post
For whatever it's worth (I'm a cis guy), I used to have experiences like yours (sex as a way to get cuddles), which (for me) was a symptom of not being super comfortable with myself and also not having a real bond to the person I was sleeping with.

"You need to watch the first three seasons to understand season 4" is analogous to "You need to watch the first 40 minutes to understand the events starting at minute 41"

you get put on that list for denigrating feminists for their feminism, or for not denigrating a feminist for their feminism, because said feminist is bad for feminism. What's so hard to understand?

I think I saw the same clip as you. Not knowing about the cultural meaning of that song, my takeaway was "How are the supposed to keep their steps in sync to that song?" March music usually has a very clear and distinct beat.
comment in response to post
Besides everything else, the fact that they played random rock sounds instead of military marching music probably didn't help them keep their rhythm.

Yeah fair. I still think that Sam's point was that politicians, like soldiers, generally shouldn't serve so long that they die of age-related disease. A soldier who is fundamentally unwilling to accept the possibility of death in combat is no soldier. But again, I was being a pedant.
comment in response to post
You should specify "death of old age" lol. Sorry to be a pedant, but for a lot of soldiers throughout history, their service ended with their death.

Which one of these treaties had a secret protocol concerning the division of Poland after a German attack? (The answer may surprise you)

I didn't know Odysseus was romancable. I thought their dynamic was much more like Zagreus and Achilles in Hades I

A drone cannot take prisoners. If a drone operator were to accept a "surrender" (throwing weapons down, raising hands, etc.), there's nothing stopping the enemy soldier to pick his weapon back up once the drone flies out of view.
comment in response to post
You're somewhat overstating your case. Under the Geneva Convention, foreign invaders have a right to not be executed if they are either found incapacitated or actively surrender to enemy troops. The problem is specifically with drone strikes (and also air strikes by plane or helicopter):

George Orwell wrote in one of his essays that any serious "good" party in a conflict will put out propaganda that is both mendacious and ridiculous. Goal is to win a war, not win a debate. Makes sense to keep in mind wrt ukraine, but also for politics in general

conservatives attack trans athletes bc they see it as a wedge to pass their larger goal (eradicate trans ppl) liberals defend trans athletes because they don't wanna concede ground towards their larger goal (prevent eradication of trans ppl) You're right to note that this is rethoric, not argument.

Ok but as a Murakami scholar you can hopefully answer if every book of his is obsessed with drinking sperm as a symbol for passion or if I just got really unlucky

yeahh I don't think that dilated pupils immediately before fainting indicate anything other than "This person is about to go into syncope". This person may very well be on drugs, but a bunch of other medical explanations are also plausible.

In my defense, I did warn them. Also most of them were obviously bots or follower farming.

I block every single follower. The air in my lungs has never tasted so sweet.

I misread that as "single-player" and thought I had found the spiciest Video Game Discourse on the face of the earth.

For me, a good question to ask is "Am I fine with being blocked by them, and anyone else who reads it?"

We looked for an "erastes" - an older, experienced top - and become their "eromenes". At night, we had gay sex, and during the day, our erastes would teach and guide us.

Take a moment. Once you stop, no one will ever think about them again.
