If you are too young to remember the Iraq War, you'll hear "no one protested" and "no one knew they were lying." Millions of people knew they were lying and protested. The press not only did not want a record of mass dissent; they did not want a record of mass knowledge of lies.

I get the “no kings” thing but I do desperately wish it was “no billionaires” or “no capitalists” These people aren’t kings. They are rich and backed by the rich. They only seem to have monarchal power because that’s the reality of a society with an economic ruling class (capitalists in capitalism)

If all porn is made illegal, you can also make illegal the expression of any person you hate by defining them as obscene and pornographic. "Existing while visibly trans" will be argued to be pornographic. Women dressing insufficiently modestly will be argued to be pornographic.

I think one of the less-named problems of intergenerational third space death is, there are a whole lot of adults for whom children are basically theoretical entities. They have memories of interacting with children AS children, but no sense of what it means to be an adult in community with them.

Toxicologist here! This will improve the health of zero Americans. Current synthetic food dyes are not causing health problems, and are often times used because they are actually safer than natural food dyes. Reminder that guns are the #1 cause of death of children but we are going to ban food dyes.

While there is a lot to say about this image, the thing that stands out to me the most - what IMO makes genAI a specifically right wing phenomenon - is the craving for approval. It is not enough to be able to generate robot lingerie warrior lady. They NEED to also be praised for doing it.
