What happened to sports fans? Seeing this stuff with Penn State this fall “if they don’t win a national championship the season is a failure” what?

The Wilhoit quote crystallized this for me so clearly the first time I read it.

It’s also extra interesting when the current SecDef is one of those idiots

It’s also like…have you been alive in the last 80 years watching the US military taking L after L against insurgencies?

But don’t a lot of those high NIL women’s players have defendable market value contracts compared to the guys under the new rules?

In the period directly after the Civil War, when most southern states were still under direct occupation by the US army, the South still had greater proportional power in the US Senate relative to their population than California does in 2025 bsky.app/profile/rala...

A thing in politics/organizing is you have to celebrate the wins no matter the size- all of them. That's how you refill the tank for the longer haul. If your level is "we can't be happy until things are the way we want" people burn out and quit. Oh they pushed a vote on that bad bill? Still a win

I guess it's just semantics? Like a 73-2 win for an SEC school over a FCS one isn't much but it's still a win.

You mean the regime that's stacking up loss after loss in federal court? Yes, facing them in court instead of being a Central American gulag is an improvement.

It's a win. A big win, the right win? No. But getting out of a foreign concentration camp and into the US legal system with a jury and defense attorney still is a win.

It's shocking that this is underrated. Like this is probably the cause for 90% of his support still? I've been surprised that none of the other candidates have come with a "sure he was calm on tv but he was killing your grandmother at the same time" angle but maybe saving that for the general.

IMHO watching from across the river, Fulop would be my choice. Gottheimer is the only hard no, the rest are varying degrees of fine, but not a big Sherrill fan, she's the token TroopProsecutor dem that a certain wing of the party is obsessed with

My coworkers who don't pay attention to politics are talking about this fight. This is an opportunity to get ppl who don't pay attention to budget bills & committee assignments to see the dysfunction. If they are going to make our govt a reality show, use that to expose the chaos to a new audience.

Yep, this has been the erosion of the Democratic Party..instead of doing everything they could to get rich assholes money out of politics, they said "but what if we just take a little, you know, so we can be competitive" and now they're awash in crypto scammers cash.
