I think whoever flagged this might be a tad confused

Pretty certain I experience anemoia- the feeling of nostalgia for a time before I was born- almost as much as regular nostalgia, if not more. I was exposed to so much retro stuff when I was young- classic cartoons, oldies music, fairy tales, etc.- that it all means as much to me as anything '90s.

Another old guitar of mine is up and running again! It's some kind of late '60s Teisco or Kawai- all I know is that it's Japanese.

I'm dismayed to learn that "derp" has roots in South Park, so you can guarantee that I'll no longer use the word.

I'm convinced that this is the first rock song that uses the minor second and the tritone in its main riff. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGBs...

It's very heartening to see Gen Z folks getting into old music and retro stuff, but I can't help but wonder if they were doing to same thing 15 years ago.

"Squunched" you say?

The Moose and Zee era of Noggin wasn't as good as the original era imo, but the songs were super good www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFdl...

It occurs to me that instead using the word "halfling" to circumvent infringing copyright on hobbits, or waiting a decade for The Hobbit novel to go public domain and having only a fraction of material to work with... ...You could just use gnomes. They're basically the same thing, but with beards.

I've been reading the Looney Tunes comics from the 1940s, and while they're actually not that bad, their greatest sin is their depiction of Bugs Bunny. Instead of a smart-aleck trickster, they make him a lazy, foolish, slightly stupid loser who's mocked and derided by his friends.

I've been watching Noveltoons/Harveytoons recently, and imagine my surprise that they didn't really hit their stride until the 1950s, while almost everyone else was either plateauing or degrading. The Baby Huey series especially is one of the funniest cartoon series I've seen in a while.

Two of our most prized possessions: autographs from Pete Best and Tony Sheridan. Got both of these in a mid-2000s Beatles fan convention. Technically it was our mom who stood in line, so they kinda belong to her as well.

Imagine my relief that so far this Spring almost nobody in my neighborhood has mowed their lawn, chopped down a tree, or rebuilt their roofs while I was trying to sleep.

T'aint the way I heared it

Not that it matters much, since the idea of canonicity doesn't really exist in Looney Tunes, but Porky Pig does have a mother and father in a few 1930s shorts. So while Farmer Jim in The Day The Earth Blew Up is hilarious, it isn't how it "originally happened".
