The "I want" really stands out here as a spell. AI is a sub-system of the Progress egregore: collective human desire, systemic attachment. Even the most creative people can be enraptured by collectable—simply described—futures. No ethical creation under digital-feudalism.

I was assistant creative director on a video shoot w the backstreet boys for a flash website I later designed and developed. fun projects with the BKWLD team.

Wrote 7,500 words on permissions and building "me-pages" today in my Architecting Workspaces guide. This is the core of my work and I'm very excited to bring this to both clients and budding Notion consultants alike.

This is funny. I follow @vgr.bsky.social. I don't want to unfollow him, but I literally can't. And it's just this account I cannot unfollow. Venkatesh seems to have some BlueSky-fu no one, not even @bsky.app support, seems to know about. Support keeps sending me "you have to click unfollow, Ben".

"When has humanity ever had the choice to develop something and chose not to?" A Chrome extension that notices a comment input and auto-prompts "Does this comment make any fucking sense at all based on historical precedent? {comment}" is the only agentic AI we need.

No longer an AI skeptic. ✌️

Your honor my client was within the i-frames

My most boomer-coded opinion is that things used to be good and now they are bad

there is absolutely nothing stopping "that stuff" from taking root here besides the community. hard pass on this idea that we're all "good" and "the protocol" is pure and will protect. we're getting very reattached to that hit very quickly. all things have rot. it's not good or bad per se.

Pretty much said it when I signed up. A'int nothing special about this place. Quit early and quit often. bsky.app/profile/type...

Wait, you guys have been interacting with reality via a complex interplay between a physical body and a mental model of the world? I've just been predicting the next token since 2007!

Mindless productivity obsesses over the external machinations of the Progress egregore; avoids discomfort at all costs; attempts to "manage" chaos. Mindful productivity focuses on creating the conditions for Betterment in congress w/nature; embraces the discomfort and chaos inherent in experience.

🌊 Friendly reminder of the the Notion release hype cycle: 1. X changes everything! Blood for the Notion gods! 2. Hmm, X is great, but I'm struggling with not being able to Y. 3. I can't believe they shipped this unfinished without Y. 4. Lack of Y is actively hurting me and my family.

Ha, I'm a PITA, but having me pushing boundaries is valuable. Value is found at the edges. I enjoy LLMs a lot specifically *bc* "they" hallucinate (apophenia being my jam), though I am fiercely skeptical of corpfluence. I think AI should be a public good: Free (as in beer and abolitionism) the LLMs!

For the love of god, do not run anything MCP outside of you reviewing and approving each request. Do NOT automate these prompts between MCP without explicit approval. And be extremely wary that it's actually doing what it says it's doing. In fact, you probably just shouldn't use MCP at all. 🎰

For the difficulty to make:delicious ratio, okonomiyaki rivals pizza as the best dish ever. 美味しいですね

One thing that moving fast and focus on UI over UX will give you is fading historical context of your own design language. Ex: adding properties in Notion. Early Notion: type a Name and then type a Type 1st redesign: type Type, then Name 2nd redesign: type Name, click icon, type Type (extra step)

Looking forward to this workshop with CAiT and many incredible workers fighting AI, including folks from the Data Labelers' Association, National Nurses United, and the News Guild.

Digging the new cleaned-up Notion database design. You can now hide the icons, the tabs are unified with Builder mode tabs design, and settings menus have been reworked.
