A lot of this I think is about the pressures of living in a system that demands impossible rates of productivity and consumption where people feel strong pleasure from being productive with shadow puppets. "Be a boss, own a house, buy lots of clothes, sell products. Craft products. Make number go up

On the other hand, games that work more like sports where you are just gaining a useless skill over time I think are a lot more positive and are a more human thing than something like an incremental or gambling game.

Though I think that some of this is maybe like a cargo cult, we have all been conditioned to seek a certain kind of feeling of productive accomplishment that isn't present enough in life for us to feel satisfied, so we seek this kind of destructive productivity in hollow game experiences.

I think I see where you're going with this. For me, games about completing tasks and getting numbers higher are pretty repulsive to me for similar reasons, especially in the small business simulator cozycore genre.

This is different than the artisan, who primarily does the work themselves but buys materials and tools instead of buying work. Obviously there's a gray area but usually the artisans pave the way for smol-biz to take over, who pave the way for big biz to take over, then repeat in new markets

Small games actually made by one person have always been a necessary and beautiful part of the scene, lets not forget.

Its to the point you can't even call someone "on the left" if they don't seem to believe anything and just argue for Internet clout

Honestly I don't know enough about asmongold to say but he's an embodiment of the worst contrarian and anti-solidarity impulses that these kinds of streamers can have on the left.

This dude uses this kind of viral stuff all the time as a platform to harass people. Definitely not judging your post since I don't think reposting = endorsing but it does benefit him.
