Trip with Venezuelan rider. His English bad, my Spanish worse. Told me he had been divorced twice -- both after 8 years. I taught him the phrase, "7 year itch." He told me his parents divorced after 40 years. I then taught him the phrase, "quarento annos itch." Learning & "teaching" each ride!

So many feelings driving an Iraqi war vet today. Even tho I was against the war.. I felt such GRATIDUDE to my passenger. He did 3 tours of duty there... He LOST 28 (28!) young guys in combat... He himself has endured 15 surgeries. An IED. I need to remember and honor their sacrifices.
