There's just sod all reason not to do UBI. The only reason not to is if you want middle-class wages to stay low, and the only way you can achieve that is by ensuring the risk of saying no to your employer are very high. But economically, practically, morally it's a no brainer.

It took me years to understand these 2 as separate and complementary movements. GBI as an anti-poverty program targeted to those in need. This is what politicians are mostly focused on. UBI as a dividend from wealth that is held in common, like natural resources and social wealth funds.
