The problem with this argument is that the political power that could make a public option available could also make Medicare for All happen. If you’re going to dream of impractical things happening, why make your dream suck?

We got a Sonos speaker. We have named it George Sonos. This has been a #inventorypost

This is why @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social needs to be a part of the big tent.

This is obviously necessary now because the GOP is such a tremendous threat to democracy itself.

The independence movement hath made it a Woke Thoughtcrime to drink that most excellent beverage, Tea, maintaining that the consumption of Coffee, is to be preferred and punishing our Right to Free Speech. We must resist this Woke Mob hither.

Take George III seriously, not literally.

Sure, he has deprived us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury; transported us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences; and is obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither. But the king never asked my pronouns.

Exiling people beyond the protection of US law without due process is not only unconstitutional, it's a rejection of the entire American revolutionary project. Sending people "beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences" is one of the grievances enumerated in the Declaration of Independence.

One President wildly exceeded his authority by forgiving some student loans; a different President barely scratched the surface of his authority by disappearing anyone he pleases without trial to a foreign gulag. Constitutional law is a serious intellectual enterprise.

By the way, as a reminder, the pronatalists are now writing policy proposals about making it harder for women to go to college so that they have more babies. And not some obscure blogger or something. The Heritage Foundation. www.heritage.org/education/re...

yeah, weird that the left wasn’t present at the Fourteen Words conference

The writing was on the wall for Liz as soon as she joined The Atlantic. It’s a bummer.

Reminds me of the classic Flannery O’Connor short story “A Hard Man is Good to Find”

Only Donald Trump could figure out a way to alienate both the free trade diehards and the pro-tariff part of the GOP. This is why he’s the most talented politician in 100 years. Masterclass. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
