Just messing around. A bit of fiction writing, a bit of embroidery, a bit of fluff.

And that was the year that was. 2024 embroidery journal finished, just got to find a nice display hoop and get it settled.

We have had our work Secret Santa, which means I can finally show off this little weirdo I made into a patch! Possibly my greatest work of embroidery. Original picture drawn by idk some monk in Le Regime du Corps by Aldobrandino da Siena.

He's trading his goods He's living in Ur His copper is suspect Claims one customer Ea-Nasir is coming to town

Surely I'm not the only person who used to lie awake in bed as a child each December in the 90s, increasingly terrified of the Christmas aliens promised to us by Chris de Burgh.

Another month down in thread. I think this is going to be my first complete January-December diary in any form of my entire life, unless I jinxed it just now by saying it aloud.

Hey, I just met you, This is a door frame. I found these peaches, So call me your name.

As much as I enjoyed the rules and restrictions of NaNo, I admit I'm also enjoying the lack of pressure this year - writing less because toddler of course, but also just letting myself mess around in a physical notebook without needing to type up constantly.

Sometimes you have months like this... Let's see if I can start catching up today!

If you were wondering how my year has been so far (and it's OK if you haven't) then "decided to do an embroidery journal and is somehow still keeping up with it" about covers the parts that the journal itself doesn't.

Things my two year old has tried to make me watch by spamming remote control button presses in the last couple of days: - Only Murders in the Building - Scream Queens - Modern Family - Bleach: the Thousand Year Blood War - Road Diary (I took pity on him and watched this one all the way through)

How much novel planning I've done ahead of November: - Written 3/4 of a vague outline - Learned how to passably nålbind - Taken up D&D - Remained consistently almost-caught-up with embroidery journal - Handsewn a dice bag and small work card pouch

...Getting Sonic flashbacks

Slowly toppling towards maybe signing up to Trackbear, as I don't care what NaNoWriMo did to itself, I'm not foregoing my only hope in the year of writing any fiction at all. Anyone used it? Thoughts?

Had to squeeze awkwardly between a couple of people having a conversation on the pavement the other day, felt bad, then heard the words "Crypto-Markt" so spent the rest of the day with a clear heart.

And as he stares into the sky, there are twice as many stars as usual.

You can check in any time you like...
