also three mile island operated the other reactor for more than 34 years after the accident lol bsky.app/profile/unce...

1) that uses the word "accident" - not "disaster", which is an entirely different meaning 2) the wikipedia notes that "There have been comparatively few fatalities associated with nuclear power plant accidents."

> defined as incidents that either resulted in the loss of human life or more than US$50,000 of property damage, the amount the US federal government uses to define major energy accidents that must be reported,

> 99 nuclear disasters i assume this refers to this quote/paper from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear...: > ...Sovacool has reported that worldwide there have been 99 accidents at nuclear power plants from 1952 to 2009...

> 21 of them INES 3+ is not hypothetical >70% of those 21 INES 3+ were in the previous century - more than 25 years ago - fwiw.

the focus already *is* on renewables. there's a lack of focus on nuclear if anything because of the cultural and political stigma after accidents in the 20th century

(guessing you meant photon.komoot.io) very cool, haven't seen this photon project before. not really sure how to solve that weighting problem then since what you have now (weighting for current location) makes the most sense in most cases tbh

just switched browsers on my laptop and forgot to re-enable it agian

> it should happen only once, the first time you go to the website tho. it seems to be happening every time i load the page, i'm guessing it's just because "remember this decision" (firefox/zen popup) is unchecked by default though
comment in response to post
two guesses i'll throw out- a) are searches weighted by proximity to current location? or maybe b) is the name on the map "tour eiffel" not "eiffel tower"?
comment in response to post
speaking of the eiffel tour uhh
comment in response to post
it's a little confusing at first because the map doesn't load until you approve or deny the current location request, even if the current location isn't relevant (e.g. viewing the map you linked)
comment in response to post
would be nice to be able to quickly copy the coordinates with a dedicated button or something also i'm surprised the street address of locations isn't displayed?
comment in response to post
that article suggests a different one but i'd suggest github.com/jordanbaird/... if you're looking for alternatives :)

the only reason i trust it is because of the stacked "followed by" list of other noteworthy people... otherwise the account doesn't have a verified domain, a checkmark, and isn't even linked with the other social media sites on www.zohranfornyc.com ๐Ÿซ

when i used obsidian i used github.com/zolrath/obsi... and it looks like it just parses the page html for the <title>< (github.com/zolrath/obsi...)
comment in response to post
probably, nevertheless i feel like it wouldn't be hard to hardcode `curl api.github.com/repos/%3Cown... | jq '.description'` into the github integration
comment in response to post
this is practically useless. pretty though!
