How do voters in Florida feel about this?

Can you just not talk like this? We're all very impressed with how serious you are, but time to get agitated my brother

Despite claims to the contrary, most of these grants are tightly budgeted to nonprofit orgs that already pay below market. I doubt there's anyway to do this without even further cutting people's comp.

This really makes the persecution of trans people so much darker. The cowardice and finger pointing to foment sexual violence and murder while they cower in terror.

There are rights and then there's power. Unions are generally on top of this distinction. CEOs are frequently within their RIGHTS to fire people en masse - that's why you build the political power of a union to punish them for it.

ho boy - typos. "Committing to nominating Ana Reyes for the Supreme Court is table stakes for the Democratic nomination for me."

Why????

Why are threatening tariffs on products we barely produce while we're actively seeking foreign oil, increasingly competitive with our own oil industry. I don't think it's our interests that our administration is serving.

GDP of the EU is 10x larger than the GDP of Russia. EU + UK + Canada + Mexico is ~14x larger than the GDP of Russia. The only people this benefits are the Trumpist kleptocrats.

My wife and I started a tradition 8 years ago to spend July 4ths in National Parks, National Forests, or National Monuments. I find nowhere makes me feel more patriotic than those special places we have preserved to honor our collective legacy. It is wrong to dishonor that legacy in this way.

Not sure I agree on this one. Understanding how to critically interrogate AI models is quite important. Knowing statistics, how to read academic papers, etc. is super helpful in that regard.

When will the pilots' and flight attendants' unions strike? Their jobs depend on capacity that was just slashed.

This seems like the logic of PACs and campaign coordination applied to government action.

Basically, Democrats are worried we're at war. And they want to make it very, very clear: we surrender.

I made a major purchase in January. I traded in one of my family's two EVs for a used plug-in hybrid. Need a way out of the country in a pinch and needed to pull the trigger before tariffs nuke car prices. Otherwise, nope.

Yes, and it's awesome that this action made the FT. I'll take that at least.

Yes. How do we give people a hand off the ledge?

Yes. And I truly believe I have to hold space for reconciliation under the right circumstances. Otherwise it's never-ending conflict and escalation.

Why should we trust your judgment on anything unless you can demonstrate that you can learn from mistakes?

You can't say, "I was wrong"? Ego too big?

"Values are determined by majority rule"? "Rule" doesn't determine values. We actually founded the country on that idea. @giladedelman.bsky.social - congrats on getting this dopey shit published, I guess.

Yes, it's about acting like a murmuration, not a phalanx.

You think Marshalls are how this ends? Get your marching shoes ready, my friend. Get your poster board. The Marshalls won't enforce this; we enforce this.
