Yes, it’s time! I’m 58 and on President’s Day, my 69-year old sister and I went to our first political protest/rally ever. We and a bunch of friends will be out there on June 14th. #nokings

I don’t either at this point. I lived there for 15 years and I’m glad I don’t live there now.

The judges who are ruling in favor of the constitution & the rule of law give me hope. Unfortunately it’s short-lived hope knowing that the administration won’t abide by those rulings. #saveourdemocracy

It was fantastic! I wanted to jump up and cheer this ruling and how it was presented. And to have a similar ruling from a US District Court in MD issue the same ruling tonight was icing on the cake! @maddow.msnbc.com

The Republicans are too afraid of backlash from DJT and potentially damaging their political careers to speak out. However, if they keep supporting this circus, there won’t be a Congress for them to be re-elected to. Wake up Republicans! #saveourdemocracy

Ditto. Can’t stand to look at or listen to that despicable creature. 🤮 #sotublackout

I agree that walking out would be counterproductive and garner the Dems never ending backlash in the media & beyond. And it would open the door for Republicans to do the same when the Democratic president speaks…assuming there are elections in the future. A silent protest might be more productive.

You can do it! Driving into a big city like Boston would be a hurdle for me as well. Maybe a friend can join you and do the driving?

It does and it is! My sister and I protested that day for the first time ever. We’re 69 and 58 years old! 😳

I heard that they were in DC on Jan 6th for the rally. Unsure if they were involved in the attack on the capitol. Just being in DC was enough for me and my friends to boycott their restaurant.!

I live in your area as well. No Momma Rabbits or Alodia’s.

Aw. Well, thankfully you were able to get out.

Did you go to WMU? My family was from the Detroit area and my brother and sister both went to Western in the 70s.

Per the Indivisible Columbia SC Facebook group that there is a protest scheduled for 12 noon on 2/17 at the capitol bldg in Columbia. Just can’t find anything online about it. They are also having a meet & greet on Saturday at 6:30 in West Columbia.

Thanks for the postcard link. I agree with your comments but I am looking for something more immediate. At the rate things are going, we may not have elections in the future…

I’d like to know what we average citizens can do to fight back besides calling our representatives. I feel hopeless, like I am sitting here waiting for a train to hit me. I see it coming but have no way to stop it.

Yes! Since November 6th, I’ve felt like a lamb being led to slaughter, but I don’t know what any of us can do to stop it. I live in a red state so calling my representative and/or senator isn’t going to be useful. It’s all so frustrating and frightening! #saveourdemocracy

I’m disturbed by it also. They just say random untrue things and repeat them, to rile up their base. It’s one of their favorite tactics, and sadly, it works. People are afraid to speak up or say anything against DT for fear of repercussions.

And he wasn’t phased in the least. He just looked bored. Ugh!
