Woo! Thank you! More parts for the machine! I'm eyeing up that Yukon wireless modules instead of a serial cable, and maybe some RGB LEDs to show the DNA as it is detected...

It needs a LOT of work. The software has some bugs, e.g. It can't distinguish several bricks of the same colour. That said, real sequencing machines have that problem too, so I'm tempted not to fix that one...

#yarrbooty Inspired by others, I've been making a Lego DNA sequencer. A Yukon drives a stepper motor which moves a stick of bricks past a colour sensor. The data is sent to a PC over serial, which converts it to a DNA seq for analysis. This is not entirely unlike real Nanopore DNA sequencing.
